The Episcopal Academy girls’ lacrosse team earned a sweep of its two games Saturday at the prestigious St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes Spring Fling in Alexandria, VA.
EA (7-1) first defeated Loyola Academy, the seven-time defending Illinois state champion, 12-9, as Corinne Zanolli scored five foals and Grace Norley tallied three goals. Sydney Gagnon had 12 saves in goal.
In the second game, EA toppled Academy of Holy Cross (MD), 12-10, as Zanolli scored six goals and Colby Gallagher added a pair. Gagnon again made 12 saves.
Meanwhile, Radnor (2-2) split at the Spring Fling, bowing to Georgetown Visitation (D.C.), 8-7, before rallying past Loyola Academy (IL), 13-12.
In the win over Loyola, Cat Belveal (two goals) tied it with 40 seconds to play and Hope Smith (four goals, one assists) won it with 28 seconds left in regulation.
Emily Games had three goals and an assist for the Raiders.
In the loss to Georgetown, Games and Fallon Quinn each had two goals for Radnor.
