On April 11, 2007 Central Bucks West toppled Central Bucks East, 13-8, in boys’ lacrosse
That’s the last time CB West had defeated its arch-rival. Until Wednesday night, West had lost to East a whopping 17 straight times.
But that streak ended in dramatic style as Will Ross scored with 1:48 remaining in the second overtime to give the Bucks (7-2, 3-1) a 7-6 Suburban One Continental Conference victory over the Patriots (4-3, 2-1)
The game-winner was the first goal by either team since the third quarter when the Bucks erased a 4-3 East halftime lead with three goals to knot the score 6-6.
Joey Rockovich and Brandon Gervais both scored a pair of goals to lead West while Dawson Gable and Ben Sexauer each scored once.
For the Patriots, Grant Porter, Ryan Brown, Ryan Stout, Ryan Schmidt, Logan Nelson and Owen Griffin each scored once and Michael Ott won 11-of-14 face-offs.
West goalie Steve Hogan helped anchor a standout defensive effort with 12 saves. East’s Ian Mauer was credited with nine saves.
