When: Monday, July 6th (second tryout 7/13 if needed)

All 9-12 players that reside in Bucks County are eligible to attend this tryout, there will be no tryout fee. All players should bring full equipment and a numbered reversible pinnie.

If there is a conflict with the first tryout date but still interested please email coach regarding a second tryout with your information. Players that make the roster of 22 players will be expected to attend a minimum 2 team practices prior to the games held at Penn State. Financial expectation will be a minimum of $176.00 to cover uniform (shorts&pinnie), Keystone Games registration, and insurance. There is a team package with lodging cost available and more will be explained at the tryout.

Summer Face-off Training

The Philly Face-Off league begins its summer league on June 1st and will hold its session every Tuesday night from 5-6:30, at the Main Line Sports Center in Berwyn. Players from more than 50 high schools and 22 club programs as well as some select middle schools competed during the winter league to practice and train against elite competition on a weekly basis.

Summer Showcases

2015 Mid-Atlantic Clash, a competitive lacrosse event for boys being held at Malvern Prep on Saturday, July 18th. The tournament’s schedule will comprise of two divisions: 10 teams of 2018 players and 10 teams of 2019 players. A maximum of 20 teams will be admitted for the tournament. The staff will be comprised of 10 DI college coaches and an assortment of local high school coaches and players. Summer Tournaments

Morey’s Piers Beach Lacrosse Tournament, for youth, high school and college teams on July 18-19 in the heart of the Wildwood beaches, N.J. This tournament gives lacrosse players of all ages a chance to enjoy the game in a new and exciting way. Teams from all over the East Coast and beyond compete on the beaches of Wildwood as well as enjoy the waterparks and beach during the day and the famous Wildwood boardwalk and amusements in the evening. The tournament offers participants and their families an exclusive discounted weekend package to Morey’s Piers Amusement Rides and Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Waterparks and a delicious Saturday night picnic served at Rendezvous Beach Picnic Pavilion.Questions? Games are 5v5, 4 field players plus a goalie, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each game will have two 18-minute halves with a 4-minute break. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games. Divisions will run from Boy’s & Girl’s U8 – U18, Men’s & Women’s Open. Beach Lacrosse is played with NO SHOES (except goalies).
Wristbands are valid for access to Raging Waters Waterpark and Ocean Oasis Waterpark and Beach Club, plus the amusement rides on all 3 Amusement Piers (daily wristband restrictions apply: go carts, SkyScraper, SkyCoaster, Climbing wall, Screamin’ Swing, High Flyer and Springshot are not included) all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday during operating hours. 8th Annual Patriot Games, July 18-19, by Heritage Lacrosse, at three sites in beautiful Bucks County, PA, featuring 22 fields in total. The Patriot Games Lacrosse Showcase is a popular boys’ lacrosse tournament held every July at venues in the heart of beautiful and historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania – a convenient forum at the crossroads of major lacrosse hotbeds, including Maryland, New England, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The event attracts the top club teams looking to test themselves against a diverse field of elite programs from other regions and to punctuate their summer travel season with a grand finale. The event features teams from traditional hotbeds on the East Coast as well as talented contingents from Canada and emerging regions of the country, including California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Washington. Past events have also included “Bridge” programs from Baltimore and Philadelphia. The Patriot Games has been selected by NDP Lacrosse as an “Approved Qualifying Event” for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions, which will take place outside of Tampa in January 2015. Top finishing teams in selected divisions will earn bids to join other top club teams from around the nation to compete in the high profile, national championship event. The brackets and divisions are organized by graduation year (i.e. 2015 – 2023 will have AA & A Divisions). Teams in each age group will be also recognized for sportsmanship based largely on sportsmanship scorecards kept by certified officials and site marshals after each game, taking into account the spirit of the game and conduct on both sides of the field, including spectators. Goalie Championships

GUARDIAN National Goalie Championship, July 27-30, Spooky Nook, Manheim (Lancaster) PA. This event will showcase and celebrate the best goalies nation-wide in a National Championship and will measure them based on the unique and patented Goaltender rating and classification system (GRC) for recruiting opportunities. Face-Off Championships

The I-95 Cup , the ultimate challenge to see which AREA of the country has the most talented face-off midfielders. The top 10 players from Philly, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland/Virginia will meet Aug. 16 in Philadelphia’s Maple Zone Sports Institute in Garnet Valley for a 1-day tournament. The Face-Off Academy’s Greg Gurenlian, Chris Mattes, and Jerry Ragonese are constantly traveling the country working with face-off athletes. When they are not on the road, all three have set up training combines where they live. Greg Gurenlian runs a daily face-off combine in New York City, Chris Mattes runs his in Maryland, and Jerry in New Jersey. All three FOA coaches will represent and coach their respective AREAS at the I-95 Cup.
The Philadelphia team will be chosen by Philly Face-Off League co-founders John Bodnar and Mike Dolente. Both highly respected face-off coaches in the area, the Philly Face-Off League is where the most elite face-off midfielders in the Greater Philly area can practice and train together on a weekly basis.
Each area will host a tryout on a specific date.

Youth programming

Fusion Futures year-round development instruction is a program designed by Fusion Lacrosse, for grades 3rd-6th. Futures mimics the Fusion Elite platform, with development and elite instruction at its core. Enrollment is OPEN. Here’s is what you are getting as a Fusion Future team member:
At least 50 hours of development with professional players Kevin Crowley (MLL, NLL, World games MVP) and Steven Holmes (MLL and NLL vet), and High School Coordinators Matt McCormick, Ryan Sankey, and Kevin Philibin. This staff among others works with your sons for every single hour of practice time.
Year-round experience: Futures participates in fall training and tournaments, winter training and tournaments, and summer training and tournaments.
Box Training:Fusion founders; Kevin Crowley and Steven Holmes, have nearly 15 years of professional box lacrosse experience between them. They are experts at teaching and utilizing the box game as a tremendous tool for outdoor success. Learning and developing the box game at a young age is crucial!
Maximum repetitions and proper developmental base: Fusion’s extensive experience has created an atmosphere of practicing and drills that are run at a college level pace yet are FUN for young players and breed a love for the game.

Summer recruiting camps

Philly Boys Showcase Camp by NXT at Saint Joseph’s University, Session II for 2018s and 2019 on July 27-29 at St. Joseph’s University. The Philly Boys Showcase Camp was started by coaches who genuinely want to help high school players achieve their college lacrosse goals by educating them on all aspects of the college process. Two coaches who embody this philosophy and the co-directors of the Boys Philly Showcase Camp – Peter Lawrence (University of Hartford), and Taylor Wray (St. Joseph’s University). Showcase lacrosse campers leave better educated not just on the lacrosse field, but also better educated about the college recruitment process, NCAA rules, strength training, and nutrition. Campers literally get to experience a couple days in the life of a college lacrosse player.

Lehigh Valley Showcase for boys in the classes of 2018 and 2019 at Lehigh University from July 22-24. This camp is designed to provide rising high school sophomores and freshmen from the Lehigh Valley and across the country with advanced skill development in a highly competitive, tournament style, playing environment. The showcase will provide a platform for players to display their skills in front of college coaches from Divisions I, II, and III, as these coaches will be invited to serve as instructors and also as recruiters. Off the field, players will take part in strength and speed training clinic (results will be given to take home at the end of camp), recruiting & academic seminar, and a leadership/character building seminar. The mission of the Lehigh Valley Showcase is to help prospective student athletes gain visibility within the recruiting landscape, while helping them grow as players and as people.
* Interested Lehigh Prospects – This camp will be a great opportunity to see what being a Student-Athlete in the Lehigh lacrosse program is all about. You will stay in the same dorms, use the same facilities, and have the opportunity to meet and work with current Lehigh players and coaching staff. All this, while affording our staff the opportunity to learn more about you as a person and player with in the highly competitive showcase format.

Summer Skills Camps

Black Bear Lacrosse 2015 summer camps. Black Bear Lacrosse has been providing expert instruction and training at camps and clinics for over a decade. Black Bear Camp directors are all current or former high school head coaches with a passion for teaching the game. In addition to its fundamentals program, which is designed to introduce the game to beginning and intermediate players, Black Bear provides advanced technique and training for experienced players, in a fast paced, fun environment. 380 Lacrosse Summer Camp at The Exeter Field House, separate sessions for 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade and 7/8 grade boys in the air conditioned turf facility. *Grade you are entering Fall of 2015!
Players will participate in a high paced, fast moving curriculum that focuses on stick skills, shooting mechanics and position defense. This year’s camps will focus on offensive spacing and timing techniques that Coach Small learned while playing for Division 1 coaches from Princeton and Villanova while playing for the Thailand National Team in last summers FIL World Championships. Fusion Germantown Academy Skills Camp, ages 3rd-9th, July 13-16, 9am-3pm. Fusion will again utilize one of the most beautiful campuses and athletic facilities in the country to deliver their progressive training. This is a high repetition high paced skills camp that also includes swimming after lunch and lacrosse film sessions. Camp directors are Kevin Crowley (5 year pro and World Champion with Team Canada) and Steve Holmes (8-year pro with New York Lizards). Returning instructors include Matt Barrett (UVA Goalie), Chris “Shocker” Lapierre (Florida Launch), Brian Grady (GA Head Coach), Ryan Sankey (Conestoga Offensive Coordinator), Matt McCormick (2x Drexel Captain and Malvern Prep coach) and Kevin Philibin (Bayard Rustin Assistant Coach).

Upper River Lax Skills Week, a great opportunity for those just discovering the sport or discovering they love the sport. Upper River Lax is offering yet another opportunity for young lacrosse players on the Main Line. From July 13th – 17th at the Phelps School in Malvern, the experienced coaches at URLax will be running a camp for boys aged 10 to 16.
As with all Upper River Sports programs, Skills Week will boast a low coach-camper ratio and lots of practice time to ensure individualized attention for every athlete. This attention to detail is critical for new players, so that bad habits can be corrected early and good technique is committed to muscle memory from the start.
Camp will run from 9am to 4pm, with a break for lunch. Upper River Sports takes a better approach to athletic growth. Coaches repeat the mantra of “process, not product. Years of experience and scientific stufy show that focusing on the process of getting better (instead of just the outcome of a game) creates a better environment for growth and enjoyment – while also leading to a better mastery of the sport. Elite 20 Lacrosse Camp for boys’ goalies in graduation years 2017, 2018 and 2019. Twenty goalies from each graduation year (‘17, ‘18 & ‘19) will be selected by the Elite 20 staff to attend this elite goalie school. Each goalie will receive personal training by some of the best goalies to ever play the game. The overnight camp will be held July 13-16 at beautiful Bryn Athyn College. Malvern Prep Lacrosse Camp, July 13-16 for boys in Grades 1 to 8. The camp is player-focused and uses a comprehensive teaching progression to serve the needs of beginning, intermediate and experienced players. Campers progress through daily fundamental station work, individual positional work, competitive position drills, systematic unsettled concepts as well as team play where new skills and concepts are applied. There will also be daily specialized coaching in goalie play and face-offs. Holy Ghost Prep Lacrosse Camp, July 20-24, for boys aged 8 to 14. Camp Director: HGP Head Coach Ryan Tessler. New England Black Wolves standout/NXT Showcase Director and HGP Alumni Brett Manney will be a guest counselor along with past HGP alums who compete at the collegiate level. They will offer expertise in defense, dodging, shooting, faceoffs, goalie play and stick skills. Campers will get to experience the HGP Varsity Experience learning from counselor demos, video and competition. The camp offers a chance to develop skills, build confidence and become a better player. There will be daily competitions for camp prizes and lacrosse gear. It will also be a great opportunity to see the HGP Campus and Athletic Facilities.

GameBreakers Summer Co-Ed Lacrosse Camps, Day/Overnight Camp will be held at The Phelps School July 20-23. GameBreaker lacrosse camps are geared to lax players of all ability levels from experienced players to beginners. The four-day LAX camps provide lacrosse players with lacrosse training from our expert coaches – while also stressing the importance of developing leadership skills and being a good sport. With separate girl’s lacrosse camps and boy’s lacrosse camps, and a commitment to provide individualized development, you’re sure to develop a newfound confidence and passion for the sport.

Knights Sports Academy Lax Camp, a faith-based summer lacrosse camp July 20-24 at Delaware County Christian Elementary in Devon. This camp is for boys entering grades 2 through 5 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
Who is it for? A faith-based instructional lacrosse camp for both new and experienced players. Equipment provided, free of charge, for those who are new to lacrosse.
Our Objective is 4Fold
• Through instruction, drills and live play, our objective is to help each camper develop their lax skills so as to more thoroughly enjoy the game of lacrosse.
• Through the use of daily stories, our objective is to capture the imaginations of our campers with the hope of helping them too get to know, and enjoy and relate to God more meaningfully.
• Through the mentoring by HS players, our objective is to celebrate each and every camper, regardless of size, speed, skill or experience.
• Through the use of fun games and activities, our objective is to help each of our campers to make new friends, to have fun and to simply enjoy themselves.

Ultimate Summer Lacrosse Camp Experience by Blue Ox/Duke’s Lacrosse Club and Philly Blast for boys and girls youth players Aug. 3-6 at Indian Springs Day Camp in Chester Springs. Times: Lacrosse (9 am – Noon) Camp Activity (1 PM – 4 PM). Ages: 2nd Grade – 8th Grade. The 2015 Camp will be a unique and different from any camp experience in the past. The historic Indian Springs Day Camp, allows for a fun day of extra activity following lacrosse activity in the morning. Encore Lacrosse Ecuador Immersion Experience, Aug. 3-14. Encore is accepting applications from boys in the classes of 2015 through 2019 for a life-changing lacrosse immersion experience of training, service and cultural development in Ecuador. Encore Lacrosse has traveled all over the globe expanding the game since 2010. Its international goals are to promote the game of lacrosse, help make it a permanent fixture within the cultural fabric of the area visited and merchandise its lifestyle clothing. Participants in the Ecuador immersion trip, being held from Aug. 3-14, will begin each day with lacrosse training by Encore’s team of professional coaches. This is what makes the Encore experience unique: its goal is to meet the needs of lacrosse players who are serious about getting better every day on the field. After training sessions are completed, all involved will be in the hands of the Asociacion Ecuatoriana de Lacrosse run by Juan Marquez de la Plata. Juan was instrumental in starting lacrosse in Mexico and has been coaching high school lacrosse in the Northern California for more than 20 years. Encore’s community service efforts will be met here with a long lasting effect! Its mission is to visit schools and universities in Quito to introduce the game to as many as possible. Following the Federation of International Lacrosse guidelines, Encore will be hosting the first ever lacrosse match at Universidad de las Americas in Quito. Led by Tommy Angelone, a seasoned vet with more than 10 years of experience in education, leadership, management and leading tours all over the world, participants will be eating local cuisine, sightseeing, hiking, and immersing ourselves fully in Ecuadorian culture. From start to finish, this trip will be the best to date, and that is why we are only choosing applicants that are serious about their lacrosse development, open to learning from new and different cultures and have a keen urge to give back.

Joe Breschi Camps. The head coach at North Carolina does his first camp in Philly, on Monday, August 10, hosted at West Chester’s Kelly Field (601 Westtown Road, West Chester, PA 19382). Coach Breschi and assistant coach Brian Holman will direct the camp along with USA world team player and UNC all time leading scorer, Marcus Holman, as well as MLL player Davey Emala and current UNC stars. There will be at least eight current UNC players; the player to coach ratio will be approximately 10-1. The camp will emphasize concentrated teaching, drilling, and the practical application of game-like situations. These drills will range from basic to the most advanced utilized in lacrosse. Coach Breschi will hold an open Question and Answer Session related to the college recruiting process with all high school players at the end of their session. Spots are extremely limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Ages/Sessions: Rising 4th – Rising 7th , Rising 8th – Rising 12th grade.
