Hope Smith added a goal and two assists, while Alexa Solomon stopped eight shots for the Red Raiders (15-6), who rallied in the second half.

Radnor the ninth seed, advances to play fourth-seeded Garnet Valley in the semifinals Tuesday at Downingtown West at 5:45 p.m. Conestoga, the No 1 in the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings, must defeat Unionville Tuesday at home to advance to the fifth-place state qualifier.

“We were really pumped up for the game,” Games said.

Her goal with 13:11 remaining in the game snapped a 9-9 tie and put the Raiders ahead to stay.

“Regardless of the records, this is huge rivalry game for us,” head coach Brooke Fritz said. “We always play them tough. To beat Conestoga in the post-season heightens the significance of this win.”

Amelia Kienzle, Paige Loose and Maggie Gladden each scored three goals for the Pioneers (18-1). Monica Borzillo contributed one goal and six assists.

Radnor relied on quick passing to register four consecutive goals during the decisive nine-minute stretch in the second half, according to Games.

Tallies by Katie Quinn, Fallon Quinn and Allison Lanzone on a free position with 6:52 remaining staked the team to an insurmountable 13-9 lead.

“Our offense really spread the field, and we made some smart passes during that stretch,” Games said.

According to Pioneers head coach Amy Orcutt, her team committed too many turnovers in transition and its defense was plagued by major defensive breakdowns in the second half.

“When you don’t come out ready to play against a team of Radnor’s caliber, you are going to lose,” she said. “But I am confident we will bounce back. This is a gritty, motivated, hard working team.”
