Andrew Towne

High School: Germantown Academy

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Franklin & Marshall

Club Affiliation: Philadelphia Freedom

Lacrosse Honors: 2015 Most Improved Player Award

What will you major in/study? Engineering or Business

Why did you choose F&M? “I chose this school because of the impression it left on me once I visited. After meeting with Coach Cav (Todd Cavallaro) I knew that he was a guy I wanted to play for and work hard for. He was a big factor in my decision. I also loved the campus, and with it being relatively close to home my family will still be able to attend games.”

Outlook for 2017 HS season? “I am excited to see what the 2017 season has in store for us. We are currently hunting for a new coach, and I am interested to see who it will be, and what he brings to the table. Unfortunately we will be losing our three senior captains from last year (Jimmy McAfee, Matt Ho, and Nick D’Ambrosio), but I am looking forward to what our returning crew will bring led by Brad Palmer, Tony Rosato, Leroy Moser, Tanner Long, and Tomm Diver. A new coaching scheme along with our returning players and some new young talent should make 2017 a good one.”

Thank You: “First I’d like to thank my family. Without them and their sacrifices I would never have been able to make it where I am today. I’d like to thank my sisters for always picking me up when I’m down, my mom for always supporting me and being my biggest fan, and lastly my dad for being with me literally every step of the way. I can’t say enough about how much my dad has sacrificed for me just to come lift with me, or have a catch, or go play basketball. He drives me and pushes me to be the best player and person I can be. He has done it all for me, and helped me every step of the way. He is the biggest reason for any and all of my success and I appreciate his time and effort the most.

“The list of coaches I’d most like to thank begins with Coach Ward and Coach Murray for getting me to start playing the game that I now love. I’d also like to thank Coach Goforth and Coach Miller for continuing to better me outside of my high school lacrosse. Lastly, I’d like to thank Coach Grady, Coach O’Brien, Coach Isdaner, Coach Cooper, and Coach Martin for coaching me through high school.”

Other schools considered: Stevens, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Lynchburg
