Cumberland Valley 2019 midfielder Kyra Place has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Connecticut.

Why did you choose this school? “I felt that UConn was the best fit for me. The campus is beautiful and I felt at home there. There are a ton of majors to choose from, strong academics and support, and great sports as well as facilities. Coach Katie (Woods) has been awesome and spent so much time with me during this process.”
Outlook for 2017 HS season? “Go far in Districts!”
People to thank: “I would like to thank my family for investing so much of their time through all of my years playing. They are always there for me encouraging me to just give it my all and to never stop having fun playing lax. Next, I would like to thank my first club coach, Erin Zimmer, for seeing something in me and giving me the hope to become the best player I could be. Also, I am thankful to my high school coach, Lilli Kane who made me earn my playing time and believed in me as a freshman player. Finally, I would like to thank my current Xtreme coach, Mark Pinkerton, for all his amazing instruction, friendship, and support through this amazing opportunity.”
