Maddi Ota
High School: Germantown Academy
Graduation Year: 2020
Position: Midfield
College Committed to: University of Colorado Boulder
Club affiliation: STEPS Philly
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose the school? “CU has everything I am looking for in a school and although the program is new, the program is strong and my dream is to play at the highest level possible. It is also a beautiful campus and amazing town!”
HS team’s outlook for 2017 season? “While I am new to the school, I have had the chance to play with the team this fall and we have strong players, some who are committed to play in college and I am hopeful that we will have a good season. We are in a tough league with teams like Episcopal Academy and Agnes Irwin, but I think we could be a strong team as well.”
Thank You: “I would like to thank Colleen Magarity for working with me and helping me through the process, Brooke Fritz and Lisa Guyer for providing the best club experience at STEPS Philly, my teammates for pushing me to be my best, and my parents for believing in me.”
Other schools considered: “Because I play both field hockey and lacrosse competitively, I have been on over 20 campuses and always considered what they would be like. But Lehigh and CU were always my top choices.”
