From Press Release

A strong contingent of student/athletes interested in playing D3 lacrosse converged on MSI Sports Village in Aston on Sunday to compete in The Match™. Players participated in clinic sessions, 7v7 short-sided “matches” and full-field games over the course of the afternoon. At least 30 college coaches were in attendance. The event, in its fourth year, was organized by Heritage Lacrosse.

Clinicians for the positional instruction included Adam Mueller, Offensive Coach of the US Men’s Indoor Lacrosse Team and former Head Coach of the Philadelphia Wings; Tucker Durkin, Head Coach at Bryn Athyn and former 3x Johns Hopkins All-American, US National Team member and All-World Defenseman; Austin Campbell, 2x All-American at LSM and 2x NCAC Player of the Year at Denison College; and Joe Donnelly, former 3x Navy All-American and retired Naval Commander who served 5 tours of duty in Iraq, who is being inducted into the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame in February.

The focus of the showcase — “Focus on the Fit, Not the Frenzy,” resonated with the players and parents in attendance. During their break, players (and parents) had an opportunity to hear Pat Gress (Swarthmore College) and James Malone (Albright College) discuss D3 recruiting and the D3 value proposition in a question and answer format. Coach Campbell was able to speak to his D3 lacrosse playing experience at Denison, which included playing in three NCAA tournaments, junior study abroad and a senior internship.

Based on recommendations and input from the coaches/clinicians who watched/coached the teams in the full-field Match-Ups™ and 7v7 games, an “All-Match™ team (see below) has been selected. Congratulations to the players who were recognized among such a talented group individuals. All participants acquitted themselves well and competed with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
