#USAWLAX U19 routs England, 20-4; will face @CanadaLacrosse for FIL @u19_laxwc15 title on Saturday

The United States and Canada will face off for FIL U19 World Championship after both teams rolled today in semifinal action at Edinburgh, Scotland.US-lacrosse

The US (8-0) will play for a fifth consecutive gold after a dominating 20-4 win over England. Miranda Ibello (Mayvale Prep-MD) earned Player of the Match honors with four goals and four assists as the US jumped to a 14-2 halftime lead. Lindsey Ronbeck (Manhasset-NY) had five goals and two assists and Nikki Ortega (Middle Country-NY) added three goals and three assists as the US outshot England 18-5 in the first half.

Chloe Jones (Lawrenceville School) had a goal and Sarah Platt (Agnes Irwin) had an assist for the US.

Canada (6-1) was also dominant against Australia with a 17-3 win, earning its first-ever trip to the final. Erica Evans had five goals and one assist and Danita Stroup had four goals and two assists for Canada.

Australia will take on England for bronze on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. local time, followed by the gold medal match at 3 p.m. (7:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. Eastern Time, respectively).

Selena Lasota earned Player of the Match for Canada in its victory over Australia, assisting one goal and winning six draw controls to help power Canada to a 10-3 lead at half, after which it pulled away with a 7-0 second half. Erica Evans scored five and added an assist to lead the charge, with Danita Stroup netting six points as well on four goals and two helpers.
