Chanticleers head coach Kristin Selvage (Boyertown) inks 10 for next 2017-18 Coastal Carolina University women’s lacrosse team.

The 10 signees hail from six different states, with three from New Jersey, two each for Maryland and New York and one each from Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. All four positions are accounted for in this class with three attackers, three defenders, and three midfielders to go along with the lone goalkeeper.
“This class of 2017 represents an equal balance of all positions,” Selvage said. “We are thrilled with the skill level and commitment that this class brings to Coastal Carolina Lacrosse. They are the future of our Chanticleers lacrosse program and are already making us very proud with their continual dedication and improvement. In addition, they are just really great people that fit into our culture here at Coastal.”
ATTACK
Hailey Heimbach (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area Senior High) is a true impact attacker who uses precision and trickery between the pipes, while using her great vision, patience and deception to feed the ball. The back check comes naturally to Heimbach and she works very hard on the ride to get the ball back. Heimbach plays with passion and dedication to the sport and will have a fantastic career here at Coastal Carolina University.
Julia Imbo (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS) is a tall fast attacker with the ability to shake and bake her defenders in front of the net. Imbo has a great game sense on offense and does a really nice job of dangling perfect passes in front of the cage for her teammates to run onto and put home. Imbo also has great vision and is very powerful in front of the cage.
Carter Williams (Waxhaw, N.C./Charlotte Country Day School) has worked tirelessly to prove who she is and how much she loves this game. She blows our mind with her progress and it is obvious that she is just getting started. Williams is a smart and deadly attacker in front of the cage, and will make her presence known.
MIDFIELD
Jordan Harrell (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake HS) is a hard worker with speed and endurance at the midfield. Harrell’s lax IQ is high and she is a terrific team player. Consistent on both offense and defense, she should contribute quite as a very powerful midfielder.
Allie Daumeyer (Lebanon, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame HS) is a feisty midfielder with speed and constant determination. Daumeyer is a never ending worker with strong cuts, a knack for making things happen, and great finishes on the offensive end.
Ilyssa Liberto (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township HS) is crazy fast and fit. Liberto’s lax IQ continues to develop and thrive. Her speed, persistence and determination make her very difficult to defend all over the field, not to mention her never ending endurance. She will prove to be a huge asset at the midfield.
DEFENSE
Lisa D’Ambrosio (Catonsville, Md./Mount DeSales Academy) is a consistent, head on a swivel defender who communicates well and looks to help always. She fits right into the defensive philosophy at CCU, and is not shy about her abilities to communicate on the field. She will be a tremendous defender.
Nicole Navan (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor HS) is a strong fast and feisty stick skilled defender who boxes out well on ground balls. Navan is also a great communicator and has great defensive footwork, is strong on 1 v 1’s and has great vision on transition.
Nina Orsimarsi (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township HS) has great defensive instincts and is blessed with discipline on ball. Orsimarsi uses great footwork and her ability to shut down 1 v 1’s. She works hard, has a great attitude and will do very well playing in Coastal’s defensive unit.
GOALKEEPER
Kennedy Smith (Kittantinny, NJ/Kittantinny HS) is a hungry and aggressive goalkeeper who fancies her game outside of the crease as well as inside. She sees interceptions well and has great poise inside the cage. Smith is not afraid to speak up when need be and has no fear of getting dirty if it means stopping the ball.
