Former Neshaminy coach Josh Hanlon has been named head boys’ lacrosse coach at Washington Township (N.J.).
Hanlon started the program at Neshaminy and led the Redskins to a record of 56-70 from 2007-2013.

Hanlon grew up in Lower Bucks County and began playing for the boys’ senior program at Lower Bucks Lacrosse Club. He was a three-time First Team All-Centennial Conference and a two-time NCAA All-American selection at McDaniel College (Md.) where he is a member of the school’s College Sports Hall of Fame. In 2004 he participated in the STX/USILA North vs. South All Star Game.
Hanlon also served as the Philly region coach for the Brine National Lacrosse Classic in 2010-11.
Hanlon, who is a Technology Specialist in Washington Township Public Schools, answered these questions about his new job:
What are your short-term goals?
Hanlon: “In the short term I am looking to get players to buy into a philosophy that positive energy breeds success. We want to compete each day in practice and be our best.”
What are your long-term goals?
Hanlon: “In the long term we want to have a program that is recognized for winning on the field and also in the community.
What is your coaching philosophy?
Hanlon: “My coaching philosophy is based on students fulfilling their role as citizens and maximizing their potential as a lacrosse player. When this happens we can trust each other as teammates and be ready to compete in practice and on game day.”
