From Press Release

US Lacrosse has announced the lineup of speakers and activities at LaxCon, lacrosse’s largest educational event and trade show, set for Friday-Sunday at the Baltimore Convention Center. Advance, discounted ticket sales at uslacrosse.org/laxcon end this evening. Walk-up sales will be available.

LaxCon, the US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest, will feature nearly 150 of lacrosse’s best coaches, players and officials hosting clinics on diverse topics, including X’s and O’s, strategies, drills, rules interpretations and more. The convention center’s expo hall will house four live demonstration areas and nearly 200 equipment manufacturers, apparel and service providers, retailers and other business in the lacrosse and sports industries, many of which will offer giveaways and conduct contests Saturday.

Ohio State men’s coach Nick Myers, who led the 2016 U.S. Men’s U19 Team to gold at the FIL World Championship last summer, new Brown coach Mike Daly, and local coaches Shawn Nadelen (Towson) and Tim Puls (Stevenson) represent some of the prominent men’s game speakers.

Georgetown women’s coach Ricky Fried, who will lead the U.S. Women’s Team to the FIL World Cup in July, Penn State coach Missy Doherty, and local coaches Cathy Reese (Maryland), Janine Tucker (Johns Hopkins) and Jessy Morgan (George Mason) highlight the women’s game speakers.

“LaxCon represents the ideal preparation event for the upcoming lacrosse season,” said Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse. “LaxCon offers countless formal and informal educational opportunities for coaches and officials. And for fans of all ages, the Fan Fest portion of events on Saturday will supply chances to meet and greet the game’s current stars.”

US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program clinics and the US Lacrosse Sports Medicine Symposium kick off LaxCon at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Formal educational sessions begin at 3 p.m. Friday’s 7 p.m. welcome session will begin with an on-stage interview featuring professional lacrosse star and Team USA midfielder Paul Rabil and US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen, followed by the keynote speech from Changing the Game Project Founder and CEO John O’Sullivan.

Saturday highlights include live-field demonstrations by Team USA players Paul Rabil, Greg Gurenlian, and Taylor Cummings, Tewaaraton Award winners Lyle and Miles Thompson, Wheelchair Lacrosse USA, former Princeton All-American Ryan Boyle, and a clinic on the new Lacrosse Athlete Development Model. Educational sessions conclude at approximately noon Sunday.

Under Armour, STX, Nationwide, and Buffalo Wild Wings lead more than two dozen event sponsors. Visit Baltimore is the event’s official CVB partner.

LaxCon drew a record 7,631 to Baltimore in 2015, and a comparable crowd is expected. To purchase tickets or for more information on speakers, schedules, events, accommodations and parking, visit uslacrosse.org/laxcon<http://www.uslacrosse.org/laxcon>.
