Description of clinic: Age and skill appropriate camp for young players who want to improve their skills or for players who want to take their skills to the next level. Passing, catching, ground balls, shooting, skills competition and scrimmages. Great way to get ready for the season!

The “Own the Pressures of Preseason” workshop at Main Line Sports Center on Feb. 20 and 22. The workshop – provided by Summit Performance and Consulting – is open to all High School Lacrosse Players (Male and Female). Increase your mental toughness by learning strategies to own the pressures of preseason. Summit is a team of performance consultants applying psychological principles for mental toughness and well-being to maximize client performance.
They can help you bring your individual performance, or the performance of your team, to the next level. They work with you to get to know you, your needs, and your goals, and from there, we make a performance plan just for you.

Phantastix Coaches vs. Cancer Clinic, March 19, at Archbishop Carroll. The lead instructor is Julie Gardner, a two-time All-American and four-year starter at UVA who plays attack for the Philadelphia Force.

ULTIMATE JUMP training series by Ultimate Lacrosse, forr all 2017 an 2018 girls. ULTIMATE JUMP is open to any 2017 Committed and Uncommitted player who wants to pursue the next level of lacrosse, as well as any 2018 Committed or Uncommitted player who wants to add to their normal club season. ULTIMATE JUMP has been designed to specifically maximize each player’s individual growth as an athlete so that the transition to college is seamless. Our program will JUMP start your college career by providing an intense lacrosse development from top to bottom to make you the complete player. We will integrate speed, agility, strength & conditioning training that is specific to the needs of each athlete.
BENEFITS: Elite training in a small group environment to maximize skill development for each player; Physical preparation for a smooth transition to the college level: Strength Training and Injury Prevention; Non-Traditional Conditioning Methods: Learn Muay Thai Kickboxing-great for hand eye coordination and cardiovascular conditioning; Mental preparation; Confidence training by Brave Enterprises specifically designed for young women and taught by elite college and World Champion player Crista Samaras (Princeton 99); Weekly Blog Topics: Video Demonstrations for lifting techniques, speed/agility etc.; Implementation of incoming college programs for individuals

Youth Clinics

GameBreaker Winter Stickwork Clinics, Shipley Upper School Gym. Five Sundays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
Session II Dates: January 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th
Boys Ages 4 – 6.5 will be from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Boys Ages 6.5 – 11 will be from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
These sessions will be taught by Mark Duncan, and The Shipley School coaching staff. He will be teaching the campers stick work training.

1st Start Lacrosse is moving indoors for the winter to three different locations. 1st Start Lacrosse is a program where the basics to the game are broken down and taught in a fun and exciting environment. It’s for children aged 3-to-7 and it will be coached by all former players now educators in the Philly area who have an extreme passion for the game.
1st Start is a 6 week program on Sundays starting January 15 where each session will be 60 minutes long. Lacrosse sticks (plastic) will be provided at every session along with a 1st Start STARTer pack, where each child will receive a 1st Start T-Shirt, Sweatband, and Sticker!

Spring league

Maplezone Sports Institute Girls Atlantic Club Lacrosse League for Middle School and Youth teams. Maplezone Sports Institute (MSI), powered by Heritage Lacrosse, is pleased to announce the launch of the Atlantic Club Lacrosse League, a youth girls spring league for 2017 that will feature competitive travel club teams with players in the graduating classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Doubleheaders will be scheduled for each team on alternating Sundays. Games are 12-minute running quarters with a minute-long break in between quarters and a five-minute halftime.
Teams play eight regular season games before playoff Sunday that determines the league champion by graduating class. The dates are March 26; April 9 and 30 and May 14 and 21. All games are played on all turf fields at the MSI Sports Village located in Aston, PA. Schedules, results and standings will all be available real time.
The league uses modified Federation rules with minor tweaks. There is limited contact with an emphasis on player safety, especially when it comes to head contact and unsportsmanlike play.
League Overview: (8 games / team + playoffs); Each team plays 8 games, plus playoffs; Play 2 games/day, every other Sunday; Minimizes conflicts, maximizes value of each game day; Games comprised of four 12-minute quarters; Game Days – March 26, April 9, April 30, May 14 (Playoffs on May 21)
4 Divisions: Tentative groupings (may be subject to change): 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

Banquets

The 7th Annual Lime Light Gala, Friday March 10th, by the HEADstrong Foundation. This special event has been recognized as one of the most inspirational events in the city of Philadelphia to award groundbreaking achievements, honor stories of hope and remember those who have lost their fight, in effort to improve lives affected by cancer. The event will be held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing located at 201 South Columbus Boulevard from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The black-tie optional event will include a five-star silent auction, dinner and an award presentation followed by dancing to the world-class sounds of Jellyroll. The event will celebrate the life and legacy of HEADstrong founder Nicholas Colleluori.
This year, longtime 93.3FM WMMR morning show co-host, comedian, award-winning DJ and survivor Steve Morrison alongside of FOX 29 medical correspondent and media personality Michael Cirigliano, MD will have the honor of serving as Masters of Ceremony. The two share a special bond, as Cirigliano played in instrumental role when Morrison was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015. The two continue to maintain a very close friendship which transcends the doctor-patient relationship.
This year the Lime Light Gala will honor Eli Glatstein, MD who currently serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Lori Alf will be presented with the prestigious Nicholas E. Colleluori Award. Alf, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma became the first volunteer for a clinical trial using immunotherapy. Her miraculous journey was chronicled by Parade Magazine in 2016. David Calvaresi, founder of Concordia Valsource LLC will be recognized with the HEADstrong Relentless Award for his involvement and generosity. Survivor and award-winning entertainer Chad Juros as well as recording artist and lacrosse great Michael Powell perform during the evening. Proceeds from the Lime Light Gala will support the expansion of Nick’s House™, a family-home operated by the HEADstrong Foundation which provides complimentary extended lodging to families displaced to the Greater Philadelphia Region seeking comprehensive cancer care as well as the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Stephen J. Schuster, MD.

Summer Tournament

The 5th annual Hershey Lacrosse Shootout for boys’ and girls’ teams on July 15th & 16th at In the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, PA. This tournament, run by My Lacrosse Tournaments, has become a fast favorite on our summer circuit of events. Teams from all over the northeast travel to participant in an action packed weekend.
With over 65 teams expected to attend in 2017, this event provides high quality lacrosse and family fun just miles from Hersheypark, one of the top rated amusement parks in the country.
All games in this 2-day championship tourney event will take place at In the Net Sports complex (798 Airport Rd
Palmyra, PA 17078). Each team has four games guaranteed and all teams qualify for the playoffs.

Black Bear Lacrosse announces its summer camp line up. This is our 15 year of providing fundamental and skill camps and introducing the sport of lacrosse to many new participants.Once again camps will be directed by Head High school coaches that teach the game.Counselors will be college players and assistant coaches. Fusion Lacrosse Camps: Cape Escape (DE). Overnight camp opportunities for boys graduating in the years 2021-2025 and girls 2020-2025. Players will learn from some of the best past and present professional lacrosse players and coaches including Steve Holmes and Kevin Crowley. Campers spend the night in Cape Henlopen State Park’s campground barracks (DE) in single beds; each barrack holding up to 15 players. Meals are provided 3 times daily in the air conditioned mess hall. From fishing off the pier, lawn games, beach sessions, basketball during free time, and bonfires at night, campers will have every opportunity to take advantage of all the park and this camp has to offer.

1st Start and Black Bear Lacrosse combined camps, July 3-July 7 and July 24-July 28, 9-noon, for boys and girls, at The Tennessee Avenue Soccer Complex in Ocean City, New Jersey. 1st Start Lacrosse camp is the ultimate experience for young children (boys and girls ages 3-7) to learn the game of lacrosse in a fun and positive environment. Black Bear Lacrosse camp is perfect for boys ages 8-14 who are looking for some fun and competitive practice. This camp is designed to introduce the game of lacrosse to beginning and intermediate level players, but also provides advanced training for experienced players. Black Bear campers will enjoy daily scrimmages, instructional sessions, contests, and daily personal interaction with the coaches. Players of all abilities and experience are welcome. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability. Black Bear teaches the fundamentals of lacrosse and develops the skills and understanding of the game needed to compete at the next level. The camps are run by top high school coaches in a fun filled, fast paced environment.
