This is one of a series of previews for the 2017 Philly lacrosse season

Central Bucks South

Head Coach: Janique Craig – 13 years
Assistant Coaches: Sharon Hetrick (1st year), Pat Toner (1st year)

Last year’s record: Overall Record: 15-3, League record: 10-0, 2016 SOL Champs, 2nd round of playoffs.

Key returnees: Courtney Taylor – 12/Midfield – Temple lacrosse, Kasey Dietzel 11/Midfield- Naval Academy Lacrosse Kristen Berntsen – 12/Attack, Krysta Reading – 12/Attack –Kutztown

Others to watch: Anna Green – 10/Midfield – University of Cincinnati, Emily Damico, 12/Defense, Melissa Veal – 12/Defense, Molly Sullivan, 12/Attack

Coach’s outlook for 2017: “We have 8 solid returning starters which is exciting and gives us the experience we need to have another successful season. We have a few newer athletic players in the line up and they are improving daily. We are looking forward to having a few games under our belt and start gelling as a team. We are working hard and we have high expectations as a team again this year.”

Upper Moreland

Head Coach: Kim Frantz (1st season)
Assistant Coaches: Casey Dellostretto, Melanie Rowland, and Melissa Felicetti

Key players: Returning Seniors include Sydney Backmayer – Attack, Allison Felicetti-Attack, and Melanie Wittick – Defense, Kaitlin Kelly – Midfield – Returning Juniors include MaddieGrace Wood – Defense, Cheyanne Grumm – Goalie, and Jessica Flannagain – Midfield

Players to watch: Sophomores Kayla Meakim – Attack, and Caludia Zanine – Attack; Freshman Cassidy Hirsch – Defense, Emma Meakim – Attack, Meghan O-Donnell – Midfield, Moria Olexa – Midfield, Chloe Leiter – Attack, and AbbyEllen Wood – Defense

Coach’s outlook for 2017: “As a team we are all very excited for this season. We have a team with a great work ethic and attitude, and players that absolutely love lacrosse.”
