Head Coach: Brody Bush, 3 Years Head Coach
Last year’s record: 14-7, (District 1 Playback (6th place))
Key returnees: Attack – Henry Berg & Tommy Sopko; Middies – James Reilly (face-off), Hunter Gregory & Peyton Jones; Defense – Jackson Niness, Goalie; Scott MacMillan
Coach’s Outlook for 2017: “In having 17 return players back from last season, we feel that this is a veteran team with lots of experience but also has a lot of youth (only 5 seniors). That being said, we expect to compete with everyone on our difficult schedule. The depth if our team is our biggest strength.”
Ridley High School
League: Central League
Head Coach: Rory Friel, 1st year Head Coach. Served as the OC the previous two seasons.
Last year’s record: 8-10 regular season, (final record 8-11, lost in the first round of the playoffs last season)
Key returnees: Offense: seniors Cade Stratton, Brock Anderson, Devon Tavani. Defense: seniors Liam Wright, Behn Worley, Mike Cowan, Jimmy Cooper and junior Kyran Baker. Three short stick d-mids: Sam Ferkler, Jami Bean and Jose Calleja. Faceoff: Cade Heverly.
Coach’s Outlook for 2017: “Offensively, We have several juniors and sophomores who are either returning starters or saw significant time last season. Defensively, we will rely on seniors and are fortunate to have 3 short stick d-mids returning. At Face-off we return a four year starter and we have a great competition going on at goalie with four players competing for the starting position.
“We play in a great league with talented players and excellent coaches. We will take this season one game at a time. My goal is for my players to be playing their best lacrosse in May and June so we can compete for a Central, District and State Title.”
