Girls Camps for 2015
Avalon 1- June 29 – July 3
Avalon 2 – Aug 10-14
BaggataGirls™ Summer Camp (www.baggatagirlslacrosse.com), at Wilson Park in Wayne from June 29th through July 3rd. The camp is open to girls entering Grades 3-9. BaggataGirls™ Lacrosse teaches the skills of lacrosse using novel drills, concepts and language players can understand, relate to and retain – all in a high energy and supportive setting. The program is not tied to any club or school team. It is agnostic in that regard. The sole agenda is to teach girls the FUNdamentals, but with a Flair…
The program will feature the full gamut of station work to teach all the skills and will include a special emphasis on short-sided scrimmaging to help participants learn to be complete lacrosse players, not just positional players. This is not a cookie cutter curriculum. We stress traditional staples but will introduce certain groups to Canadian/Box lacrosse concepts and explore what is possible with the stick and a ball. BaggataGirls™ training transfers knowledge, maximizes touches and is designed to help players thrive in the style of play that has emerged in girls’ lacrosse. Our goal, in a condensed time frame, is to help the girls advance at an accelerated rate. Our hope is to instill or further develop confidence and a passion for the game.
The camp will be organized and led by Co-Directors Amy Orcutt, head coach at Conestoga High School, and Scott Growney, former Mesa Fresh / PennStar coach and co-founder of BaggataGirls™ Lacrosse. Register soon and see why experience is the best teacher — https://mytournamentregistration.com/baggatagirls/players.php. All are welcome to join the fun and enjoy the new wave (and new ways) in girls’ lacrosse training.
Girls Ages 4-8 (Grades Pre-K to 2nd Grade) are invited to participate in the KinderLax™ Summer Camp at Wilson Park; players do not need equipment, soft lacrosse sticks and spongy balls will be provided. Space is limited – see http://www.kinderlaxlacrosse.com/.
Katie Chrest Lacrosse Camp, The Agnes Irwin School, Bryn Mawr, PA, July 6-8, 8 a.m. -2 p.m., Ages 7 to 18, Each Camper Receives 18 hours of expert instruction by a staff exclusively comprised of current and former college and national team lacrosse players and coaches over the course of 3 days; Dry fit camp t-shirt; Reversible practice jersey; Autographed photo of Katie Chrest; Lunches provided by local restaurants (served in an indoor air conditioned facility); Opportunities to win prizes during daily competitions. This camp provides instruction for every position (attack, middies, defense and goalies). Goalies will have their own coaches. All coaches have college playing or coaching experience. It is for this reason we assign coaches to stations, not to age groups. This ensures campers will receive instruction from all of our talented coaches vs. just one. The concentration is on instruction rather than watching/officiating scrimmages: At multiple stations per hour, we teach fundamentals and mechanics and provide drills to take away from camp to perfect these skills on your own. This camp is beneficial for experienced players and beginners. Because the camp is properly staffed the coaching staff can give the attention players of all skill levels deserve. Less experienced players will benefit from the focus on fundamentals. Experienced players will benefit from learning how to perfect their fundamentals from college and pro players and coaches. Perfecting fundamentals is how good players become great players. High School Players: Most, if not all, of our camps have multiple college coaches who recruit at your club tournaments. Early sign up discount available! See website for discount code. Click here to register.
