Jake Floyd-Jones
High School: Episcopal Academy
Grad year: 2017
Position: Goalie
College committed to: Lafayette College
Club team: Big 4/HHH
Lacrosse honors: Under Armour
Academic honors: Honor roll 4 straight years
What do you plan to major in? Economics
Why did you choose the school? “After visiting many schools I just kept coming back to the one that made the biggest impression on me. Their recruiting position was not about the sport as much as it was about the next stage in life. Lafayette’s track record of placing student athletes with alumni internship programs is something the other schools just didn’t bring to the table. Every single senior prior to the season either had a job or was accepted into grad school. How can you not be impressed with what Coach Ski (Jim Rogalski) is doing? Lafayette isn’t fully funded but college lacrosse is more than just stepping on the field. I hope to be on Wall St. one day and Lafayette gives me the best chance to achieve that goal.”
HS team’s Outlook for 2017 season: “After last year’s disaster of a season because of injuries, we are probably the forgotten school in the Inter-Ac. Coach Bates is breathing new life into the program and my only comment is that teams will be rather surprised when they play us.”
Thank You: “Obviously, I would like to thank my parents Jamy and John, they have supported me through many years of club and school lacrosse. My crazy father would shoot on me for hours and mom would back up the goal. I would also like to thank Billy McKinney and Eric Gregg who made lacrosse fun and competitive. Any future lacrosse players would be lucky to be coached by them; Coach Gregg has a serious shot.”
Other schools considered: Richmond, Dartmouth
