Dave Page Goalie School Clinic, Sunday, April 9th from 10am-1pm at North Brandywine Middle School, 256 Reeceville Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320. With a full 3 hour block, the school will cover just about everything with a mix of drills and live shots, and this will be an invaluable tune-up as goalies hit the midway point of their Spring season and get ready for the Summer circuit.
Registration Link
Goalies will be broken up by age/experience, with the more experienced group working progressing to high-level concepts while the younger/newer goalies will get a healthy dose of the basics before being introduced to some fresh new drills. The day will be fast paced, fun, and is exactly what any goalie needs mid-way through the Spring!
The first hour will focus on teaching, tweaking and repping through the foundations of goalie plays; footwork, positioning, hand speed and clearing. The drills will vary by experience level, but the BEST goalies in the world never progress beyond hammering the basics! As we move beyond the first hour, goalies will progress through a series of closely-coached drills working on skills and techniques including:
*Positioning and Technique for playing shots off the dodge, both above and below the cage.
*Specialized drills to expose and correct issues to common “trouble shots” for goalies (Off-hip, hard bouncers, shots off of feeds, etc)
*Full and Half-field clearing drills that focus not only on stickwork, but the concepts that make clearing easier for goalies and their teammates.
*Lots and lots of “live” shots from College and Post-College shooters (adjusted to the age/ability of the goalie in the cage)
Any questions can be directed to Foundationlax@gmail.com or by calling Dave Page at 484-947-3201. He will be excited to talk about Dave Page School training and why it is exactly what all Youth/HS goalies need.
