Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, will expand to Philadelphia and Episcopal Academy on June 29th and 30th. The charity lacrosse event has raised over $1.5 million since 2012 and will be touring twelve locations throughout the summer.Image may be NSFW.

“The passionate lacrosse community combined with the deep patriotism of the city made Philadelphia an ideal location for an expansion location,” explains Tyler Steinhardt, Founder and Executive Director of Shootout for Soldiers.
The event is entirely volunteer-led, and a host committee led by Episcopal Academy has helped develop a family-friendly charity event to unite the whole community.
“Shootout for Soldiers is a wonderful initiative that I am certain our Philadelphia Lacrosse community will rally around in a big way,” said Chris Bates, Episcopal Academy Head Lacrosse Coach. “The mission of Shootout for Soldiers is to engage and support our veterans and this is something we are all thrilled to support. The Philly event promises to be a ton of fun for everyone involved!”
The event is composed of 24, 1-hour games in a row and is open to men’s and women’s teams of all ages. Teams must fundraise a minimum of $750 to participate and registration for the events recently opened on March 1st. In addition to lacrosse, there will be live music, food trucks and a festival of fun and activities for the whole family. Those interested in helping plan the event can sign-up on the website.

The games are open to both male and female teams of all ages, with honorary Veterans games opening each event. Summer 2017 events will begin in Atlanta GA on May 20 and 21, Houston TX on June 3-4, Hudson Valley NY on June 16th-17th, Baltimore MD on June 20-21, Boston MA on June 23-24, Philadelphia on June 29-30, Columbus OH on July 15-16, Long Island NY on July 20-21, Canandaigua NY on July 22-23, Denver CO on July 28-29, Salt Lake City UT on August 4-5 and Dana Point CA on August 11-12.
