Four Philly girls helped Team Heather Leigh Albert claim the top division championship of the U19 Girls tourney Wednesday at the 45th Annual Vail Lacrosse Shootout.

Philly girls Katie Detwiler, Lila Barker, Scottie Rose Growney, Taylor Lucey helped team HLA win the Gold Division Championship at the Vail Lacrosse Shootout.

Recent grads Taylor Lucey (Episcopal Academy), Scottie Rose Growney (Conestoga) and Lila Barker (Agnes Irwin) and Archbishop Carroll 2018 Katie Detwiler helped Team HLA edge les Diables Bleus, 12-11, for the Gold crown.

Detwiler now has the rare distinction of being named the winner of the Heather Leigh Albert Award (from the US Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament) and being a member of the Team HLA championship team at Vail in the same year.

“It was an awesome experience,” said Detwiler, a Loyola commit who led Archbishop Carroll to the PIAA Class AAA championship. “All the girls were really nice; it was probably one of the best and deepest teams I’ve ever been a part of!

“All the girls were great people off the field too. Sean and Gene and the rest of the Albert family are amazing people and I’m glad I got to spend so much time with them and the rest of the Albert Family. It was such a unique opportunity and hope to be a part of it again next year!”

Final Standings
1st Place- Team HLA
2nd Place- les Diables Bleus
3rd Place- Sky Walkers
4th Place- Hero’s
