Lenape (N.J.) 2016 goalie Manny D’Alessio has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Post University.

Why did you choose school? “Coach (Jim) Griffin is a proven winner both as a player and as a coach. I look forward to being a pivotal player on his team.”
Thoughts on your HS team’s season? “We won the Group 4 South title last year. We have some key players coming back this year so we look forward to getting the state tittle.”
Thank You: “It is not hard to express my thanks to my coaches, who helped me get to where I am today. What is hard, is how to adequately tell them, how they changed my life forever and have effected everything that follows from what college I picked to keeping my path set, focused on athletics and education. The day my football coach, Coach Bill Sutphin, asked me to play goalie to fill the freshman spot, we never guessed that I would have skills that would grow and let me play competitively. Coach Sutphin is the reason I am playing and every success I ever have; I have him to thank. He opened the door, that I was able to run through with some great advice and from training from Coach Gunning, Cummins, Einstein, Duncan and goalie trainer Eric Leonard.
“Thank you Coach Churchward (NCSA) for advice and guidance in the recruiting process. Nothing could have made me get looked at as a solid player like my club team, Dukes (PHL). When I joined team Philly Coach Cullinan saw the drive for success and put me on the A team; I will always be grateful. The transition to Dukes with Coach Harner and Cullinan, senior, was great; they gave me direction, and guidance for the next level of play. Thank you to the Dukes Lacrosse Club, Ebe Helm, and Coach Christmas, who welcomed me to the program, helped in the recruiting process, encouraged my playing and acknowledged my improvement. As part of the Dukes family, I will always represent them with good sportsmanship, leadership, as to reflect positively back on the team.
“My fitness trainer, Coach George Phillips, was not only the one who trained me as an athlete but taught me important life lessons and through faith all things are possible. Thank you.
