Manheim Township High School 2019 face-off specialist Nick Gutierrez has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Nick Gutierrez profile:
High school: Manheim Township, PA
Position: FOGO
Grad year: 2019
College committed to: New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)
Club team: NXT
Lacrosse honors: 2017 L-L League Second Team, 2017 Summer Philly Showcase All Star
Academic honors: Honor Roll
Expected major: Chemical Engineering
Why did you choose NJIT? “My priority for college was to have the ability to pursue my intended major and play lacrosse. NJIT went above and beyond my expectations. Coach (Travis) Johnson and (Alex) Lopes were both fantastic and made me feel at home. I also like the proximity to a big city and home.”
HS team’s 2018 outlook: “Our starting team hasn’t changed from last year. Our senior class is very strong and we should have a very successful season.”
Thank You: “Coach John Bodnar from PFL has stood by me since middle school and I will never be able to thank him enough for everything he has done for me. Thank you to PFL and FOA coaches for teaching me everything about the FO position. I would also like to thank coach Brett Manney and the NXT coaches for their support and guidance.
I couldn’t have done anything without my families continued support and I’m thankful for them. And thanks to all of the MT coaching staff through all the years for teaching me how to play the sport that I like so much.”
Other schools considered: RIT, Stevens Tech, Swarthmore
