Box team tryouts
Penn*Lax All-Stars will consist of one High School team and one Middle School team. Both teams will compete in three of the nations top box tournaments this winter, as well as the nations top box lacrosse tournament, the US Box Lacrosse Nationals in California next summer. Penn*Lax is uniquely designed as to not conflict with your current travel team. Cabrini Fall Prospect Day, Saturday, October 10 from 9 to 2:30 p.m., for players who are interested in playing at the college level. The clinic will cost $120 and take place at Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College. The goal of Prospect Day is to provide prospective student-athletes with a glimpse into the lives of college lacrosse players, both on and off the field. The clinic is capped by position to ensure participants adequate instruction and attention. The session will include light conditioning, individual skill development by position, positional drills and team offensive and defensive concepts.

At the end of the clinic, the Cabrini coaching staff will hold a recruiting seminar and question and answer session to help attendees navigate their way through the upcoming recruiting process. Among the topics to be discussed will be an overview of the life of a college student-athlete.

The Connecticut College Lacrosse Prospect Day consists of a combination of a practice session and game play in order to give players multiple settings to showcase their talents. 9:00am Check in at Charles B. DESCRIPTION: Our prospect clinics are designed for elite high school players who want to play at the college level and have a specific interest in Saint Joseph’s University. Our clinics provide the platform for each athlete to showcase their ability against top level competition, to gain insight into the life of a college lacrosse player, and to learn about the recruiting process. The morning session is geared toward player evaluation as participants will take part in competitive drills and scrimmages to assess their ability level. Following the morning session we provide lunch for the participants and the afternoon consists of a complete program overview and summary of the recruiting process. We also offer an optional campus tour after the conclusion of the clinic.

Philly Face-Off League, a club where starting face-off players for their respective school or club teams can meet once a week to not only practice their skills against each other, and receive elite coaching. In order to be a part of the league you must have at least one year of experience facing-off at a high level for your school or club team. This league is not for beginners. This is an IDEAL clinic for face-off guys who want to compete against other quality face-off players for 90 minutes while receiving individualized instruction if needed.
The Philadelphia Face-Off League is run by John Bodnar (Episcopal Academy, NXT Lacrosse) and Mike Dolente (Dukes Lacrosse Club). They both have an extensive background in working with some of the best face-off guys in the area and are asking for more guys to compete. This fall they will continue to be indoors at the Main Line Sports Center in Berwyn.

Showcase Tournaments
The Match™ (www.matchlax.com) — a novel recruiting showcase/skills focusing on elite players targeting Division III colleges. The event, in its third year, will be held on Sunday, October 18th at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pa.
The Match™ is specifically designed for boys in 2016/2017/2018 graduation years who are (or have the potential to be) strong Division III candidates – athletically and academically. All interested players may submit their applications on-line. High school coaches are encouraged to nominate players they think might be well suited for the event, all of whom will receive further information about the opportunity. Participants will be selected on a rolling basis based on coaches’ recommendations and player credentials. Invitations are extended with the goal of optimizing player mix by position. The Match™ will afford players the chance to showcase their skills in drills, in 7v7 short-sided matches and several full field games before an array of Division III coaches. The novel 7v7 portion of the event is designed to maximize player touches and give participants a meaningful chance to display their skills on offense, defense, in transition and in the goal – all in a fast-paced setting. The Match™ has attracted over 300 players from eight states in the last two years. Close to 50 Division III colleges have attended the showcase, including Alvernia, Bowdoin, DeSales, Dickinson, Drew, Eastern, Elizabethtown, Elmira, Franklin & Marshall, Haverford, Lycoming, McDaniel, Mary Washington, Merchant Marine, Messiah, Muhlenberg, RIT, Scranton, Swarthmore, Ursinus, Western New England, Widener, Williams and York. Feedback from past events has been glowing, with players, coaches and parents commenting on the format and the event’s contrast with the many recruiting events that are significantly less participatory.

GFW Fall Showcase, Nov. 1 at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, N.J. The event will feature 60 of the nation’s top uncommitted recruits at each grade level for the classes of 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Fee: $250 (Includes reversible, Streaker Sports custom shorts, Wola-Co Compression shorts and the opportunity to play in front of top collegiate programs)
Format:
4 – 30 minute games in which you get to put it all on the line for two 15 minute halves.
1 – Practice before playing with each team’s Division 1 coach so that you can familiarize yourself with your teammates and play the sport effectively as a TEAM

MVP Rider University, on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8. MVP Rider offers one of the country’s top fall recruiting events at Rider’s beautiful facilities in Lawrence Township (N.J.) with divisions for 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 graduation years. There are also high school and mixed clubs divisions with a 12-team maximum for each division.
Teams can play on either Saturday, Sunday or both days and have a three-game guarantee. Several teams have already confirmed their spot in MVP Rider, which is played on 10 fields and offers players, coaches, parents and college coaches an easy opportunity to move around easily and maximize exposure.

The National Showcase, Hosted by the Victory Event Series and National HS Coach of the Year John Nostrant, an elite lacrosse event with a teaching component, Nov. 8 at Germantown Academy. This event will give the Top Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors players (2017, 2018 & 2019) in the country an opportunity to demonstrate their talents in front of premier college lacrosse programs while learning new techniques/skills that they can apply to their game. The National Showcase is centered around three main components:
Speed & Agility Drills; Instructional Player Clinic with College Coaches; Recruiting Q&A with Colleges
Showcase Games.
This is an open registration event that will feature some of the best High School boys lacrosse players in the country. The Big12 Fall Invitational, for the nation’s top 2018 and 2019 club teams on Sunday November 15 at Blandair Park Columbia, MD. The event was founded by Kevin Mayer, Director of Rock Lacrosse, and was established to provide 2018 and 2019 teams a viable tournament venue to compete and receive recruiting exposure to NCAA Division I, II, III programs while also bringing much needed awareness to ALS a devastating disease that afflicts 6400 Americans annually. Proceeds from the Big12 Fall Invitational will be donated to the Big12 tournament partner the Brigance Brigade Foundation (brigancebrigade.org), whose mission is to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS.
Legacy Global Sports is the tournament partner for infrastructure support for the event.

Fall Tournaments
5th Annual Kelly’s Fall Masters Lax Classic, Oct. 10th. This one-day tournament will be hosted at The Shipley School’s main campus (two turf fields) in Bryn Mawr. The tournament will last from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with three games guaranteed per team (a fourth if you make the Championship game). This event is a masters-level lacrosse tournament with teams coming from New York to Virginia, and, of course, PA. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase as well as tournament merchandise along the concourse.
The tournament was designed to provide a fun day of lacrosse and to help the sport of lacrosse give back. This years proceeds will be given to LEAPS lacrosse. LEAPS’ mission is to enrich the lives of youth through lacrosse and education, as well as instill the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The post tournament Social Hour will be held at Kelly’s Taproom in Bryn Mawr, walking distance from the fields, from 5-7 pm and will feature a free buffet and a raffle for several great prizes.

Charity Banquet
Fourth Annual EVANFEST Lacrosse Banquet, Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Drexelbrook Catering in Drexel Hill. Once again, the event will feature big-name speakers and a program that fittingly honors a youth tournament and foundation in Evan Brady’s name that has raised over $1 million in funds for families with children that have life-threatening diseases. Individual banquet tickets are $85 and various sponsorships are available; the event runs from, 6:30-9 p.m. Click here to purchase a ticket. The first hour of the program features an open bar and time for attendees to mingle. This event is a celebration of the Philadelphia Lacrosse Community and its dedication to recognizing the many ways the community assists in helping people’s lives off the field as well as on the field. Evan Brady was a youth lacrosse standout who battled osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) for several years until passing away at the age of 19 in 2005. The eighth annual EVANFEST lacrosse festival will be held in April 2016 at Malvern Prep. EVANFEST draws more than 40 boys’ youth lacrosse teams in the U-15 and U-13 divisions. The Master of Ceremonies for the event again is Philly lacrosse standout goalie Brian Dougherty, the head coach at Chestnut Hill College and a recent inductee into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame. The special guest speaker features legendary Temple University men’s basketball coach Fran Dunphy.

The event supports the PLA’s mission to promote the game of lacrosse in the Greater Philadelphia region, particularly its New Start Program, which provides technical and financial assistance to new lacrosse programs.
The proceeds enabled the PLA to do the following:
• Support of the PIAA Public Lacrosse League and youth and middle programs in Philadelphia;
• Conduct/sponsor high school and youth coaches’ clinics;
• Sponsor area charitable tournaments that keep Philadelphia lacrosse in the spotlight (including the Katie Samson Tournament, the Nick Colleluori Classic, Checking for Cancer and EvanFest);
• Organize/underwrite the 2nd Annual PLA High School Awards Recognition Banquet at the Radnor Hotel, which featured over 250 attendees and brought both the boys’ and girls’ games together to recognize elite high school lacrosse players and others who made their mark on the 2015 high school lacrosse season;
• Induct the Class of 2015 into the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame at Whitemarsh Country Club in February;
• Support the HEADstring Project, which donated over 200 new and refurbished sticks to programs in the City (see www.headstringproject.com); and
• Launch the PLA’s new website (see www.palacrosse.com).
The PLA is excited to return to Manufacturers! The club hosted the PLA’s first outing in 1993 and last hosted the event in 2006. The Club offers a majestic club house and other facilities and a traditional style parkland layout, featuring a great routing and scenic beauty throughout. Manufacturers’ is one of the “must play” courses in the Philadelphia area.

Please reserve your spot in the outing by registering for the event as soon as possible, but in any event before Monday, October 5th. Registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Based on last year’s participation and the pace of registrations to date, we expect the outing to sell out.
