Justin McQuaid has resigned as head boys’ lacrosse coach at Interboro to spend more time with his family.

McQuaid posted a record of 54-62 in seven years after taking over a young program that went 1-15 in 2008 and plays as an independent because the Del-Val does not have a league. His 2015 squad went 11-6 and closed with five wins. The Bucs return all but three starters in 2016 and have several players that have committed to play college lacrosse.
McQuaid said the decision to step down was difficult.
“I am reluctantly leaving,” he said. It’s just that my family life (with two children) has changed and it’s not possible to continue as the coach with our schedule.”
McQuaid said telling his players he was leaving was painful. But the support he received from the Interboro community made it easier.
“For 16 hours I was down in the dumps, but then I got an outpouring of support from so many people,” he said. “The families and players – they were so supportive and it made me feel I had changed people’s lives.
“I was lucky. The youth program has worked hard, we have supportive parents and kids that would do anything for you. They would run through a wall for me. They embraced me and were so enthusiastic.”
McQuaid also was previously head coach at Archbishop Carroll for two years and the offensive coordinator at Garnet Valley.
