Senior Lindsay Monigle had four goals and an assist and tallied her 100th career tally. Seniors Mallory Jones (two assists) and Catherine Frederick each netted a pair of goals.

Voenna Iacona stopped three free position shots in the first half and Cape (17-1) bolted to an 8-0 halftime lead.

The Spartans (17-1) finally scored 10 seconds into the second half on the first of Kendra Schweizer’s three goal.

Cape Henlopen has not lost a game to a Delaware team since 2009.

“This team has done a great job this year staying focused and working together as one unit,” said Cape coach Lindsey Eichner. “The girls knew they needed to come out fast and hard and that is exactly what they did. The team worked hard the entire game to come out on top.”
