The National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association (NILCA) has named Haverford School’s John Nostrant as one of its Co-Coaches of the Year for the 2015 season.
Nostrant guided the Fords to a 26-0 season, which included the top ranking in all national polls, including the Epoch Lacrosse North America Rankings. The Fords won the Inter-Ac League title, the Inter-Ac Invitational and finished undefeated for the second time in five seasons.

JOHN NOSTRANT – COACH OF THE YEAR
Haverford School
2015: 26-0
John Nostrant is the Athletic Director and Head Coach of The Haverford School in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Coach Nostrant has served as the head coach of Haverford Lacrosse since 1991, winning more than 400 games, 3 state championships, and 10 Inter-Ac conference title. He also helped coach the USA U19 world team to a gold medal in 2008 and his teams have twice been ranked #1 in the country; first in 2011 and then again this past season. Nostrant is 423-129 in his career (24 years at Haverford, one year at St. Albans, VA).
CHUCK APEL – COACH OF THE YEAR
Bridgewater-Raritan HS (NJ)
2015: 23-0
Apel has served as the head coach at Bridgewater-Raritan High School (N.J.) since 1980 and has won more than 300 games in his career. He led the school to a state championship in 1998 and in 2001 was inducted into the US Lacrosse New Jersey Chapter and New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association (NJSCA) halls of fame. Apel has also an assistant coach for the 1999 U.S. U-19 team that won the world championship in Australia and Head Coach of the 2008 US U-19 team that also won the Gold Medal. Coach Apel is 5x Coach of the Year in NJ.
MIKE MESSERE – MAN OF THE YEAR
West Genesee HS (NY)
2015: 18-3
Coach Messere has coached Lacrosse for over 40 years. He has a record of 803 wins and 71 losses. Besides coaching lacrosse he has coached football, wrestling, soccer and weight training. His West Genesee teams have ranked #1 in the state of NY 15 times and on a National level his teams have been rank #1, 9 times by various publications and organizations. Not only has he led his team to success on the field and in the classroom. Coach Messere has become an institution not only in Syracuse and NY State, but nationally well.
