Why did you choose the school? “During my recruiting process I wanted to make sure I was going to go to school at a place where I would be 100 percvent happy even if I, by happens chance, got a career-ending injury. After my visits to Harvard I knew that this was the place where I would be happy and where I would thrive, whether as a lacrosse player or not. I’ve always loved meeting new people and learning about everyone’s different backgrounds. I know for a fact that at Harvard I will be surrounded by people from all over the world and I am so excited for that. I also don’t think Harvard’s campus and location can be beat. I love the old stone buildings and the prestigious feeling on the Harvard Yard and I also love the Boston area; It’s a great college city. As for the lacrosse team, I loved the friendly and welcoming vibe that the girls on the team gave me. The coaches are all so nice and really care about the girls on the team as people and students and not just lacrosse players. The cherry on top is that Harvard is such an amazing and highly-esteemed university!”
HS team’s outlook for 2016 season? “After our success last season, we booked ourselves a tough, but exciting, spring schedule. We are playing many highly-ranked teams all up and down the East Coast, which are going to be huge and exciting games. The younger girls on our team have improved so much over the summer and I cannot wait to see the amazing things they bring to the table this season. It’s a really cool experience going from being a scared freshman to a senior captain and I’m already having so much fun, along with the other seniors, falling into my new leadership position. I have high expectations for the spring!”
Thank You: “I would like to thank my Dad for waking up at the break of dawn and driving me to countless lacrosse and soccer tournaments throughout my life. If it wasn’t for his support on the sidelines and advice I would not be half the athlete I am today. I’d also like to thank my mom for making sure I didn’t ever forget my cleats or some extra water and for always making sure my face had the proper amount of sunscreen on it. If it was not for Coach Duck (Jen Duckenfield) I would not even be playing lacrosse to the same extent I am today. She taught me almost everything I know and helped me fall in love with the sport. She’s always there for me whether it be a lacrosse-related issue or not and I will forever be thankful for how much she has done for me. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my teammates at Agnes Irwin for being such a great support system on and off the field.”
