Women’s recruits: Davidson adds three Philly girls

Davidson women’s lacrosse head coach Kim Wayne announced Monday the addition of eight recruits to the class of 2020 who will join the program this coming Fall. The class is comprised of three attackers, three midfielders, a defender and a goalie, while hailing from six different states.

“I’m thrilled to welcome eight recruits to this new class for next year,” said Wayne, who is entering her eighth season. “Our focus going into the recruiting process was adding speed to our midfield, quickness to our defense and aggressiveness on attack. We believe we found all of that in our incoming recruits and are excited to see them put it into action next season.”

The Wildcats will welcome to the Class of 2020: Maddie Hunter (Charlottesville, Va.), Lauren Wolfe (Coopersburg, Pa.), Shannon Blee (Baltimore, Md.), Shayne Antolini (Babylon, N.Y.), Delaney Guhman (Greensboro, N.C.), Genna Portner (Baltimore, Md.), Claudia Becker (West Chester, Pa.) and Jordan Wood (Hockessin, Del.)

Claudia Becker
Position: Defense
Hometown: West Chester, Pa.
High School: The Episcopal Academy

Athletic & Academic Honors: competed in both lacrosse and soccer during prep career … earned three letters in lacrosse … 2014 Interac Champions … named to the Philly National Tournament Team in both 2014 and 2015 … 2015 Episcopal Academy Most Valuable Defender Award winner … 2015 US Lacrosse Academic All American … named 2015 Underarmor underclass selection … a four-year letter winner in soccer … two-time Iterac Champion in 2012 and 2015 … team captain in 2015 … given Episcopal Academy Mind Body Spirit Award in 2015.

Jordan Wood
Position: Attacker

Lauren Wolfe
