Why did you choose CCSU? “I chose my college because of its great lacrosse program and coaching staff. Coach TK (Tanya Kotowicz) really reminds me of my high school coach and we have a great relationship so I know I will also have one with Coach TK. I also choose it because it had both the majors I am thinking about which are Athletic Training and Exercise Science. I am very excited to be a Blue Devil in 2016!”
Thank You: “Sue Montegari – I would have never been where I am today if I didn’t have her as my coach teaching me everything I needed to know about lacrosse and the recruiting process. She is just amazing, she has so many girls that she does the same thing for and I just cant thank her enough for all the time and effort and belief she had in me.
“Taryn Tabano- Taryn was my first Tri-State coach and she really made me love my first year. I learned so much from her just being with her for the summer season. I cant thank her enough for always being patient with us and always go over our drills till we get it right.
“Emily Barbieri- Emily was my assistant coach my freshman year and she taught me a lot also, since we are both lefties and play low attack she taught me almost everything I know, she taught me how to rolls the crease when and where to look for girls when they’re cutting and when it’s a good and bad decision. I wouldn’t be when I am today if she wasn’t talking to me and helping me constantly even when she wasn’t my coach.
“Nicole Kopyta- Kopyta is such a role model to all of us on the team, she is a great lacrosse player and understands the game, after having her as a coach and seeing what she did and listening to her tips I got so much more involved with lacrosse I studied the game more I worked on my tricks. If Kopyta never told me when I go to shoot to throw a fake in there to confuse the goalie I would have never known how to move a goalie. Now that I have her for a second year I cant wait to see what she can teach me now.
“Christina Costantino- Cos was one of my favorite supporters she was a great coach she always knew what to say & when to say it. If I didn’t or someone didn’t understand a play she would go over it with us until we got it. She always knew how to make us laugh but also to push us to be better and I cant thank her enough for always pushing me to be the best I can be.
“Mellissa Royston- Ms. Roy has always been there for me whether it was to be my coach or to be someone to listen. She is a great coach and she understands me. We have a special look that we give to each other while I’m on the field if she wants me to slow down the attack and get us set up all she has to do is yell my name and I give her a quick look and we understand each other. She believes in me so much because if she didn’t she wouldn’t have told me my freshman year that I should take my talent to a club team and play with people at my level & I took her advise and look where I am now. I cant thank her enough for always believing in me and telling me to never sit on my talent.
“My mom and dad are the most amazing people in my life and if I didn’t have their love and support I don’t know where I would be without them. They believed in me even when I didn’t and I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done and do for me. Love you guys so much thanks for always being their and being my number 1 supporters I couldn’t have done it without you.”
