The Kaiserman JCC lacrosse team information session, Wednesday, March 9th at 7:30 pm at the Kaiserman JCC (45 Haverford Rd, Wynnewood, PA 19096). The team will represent the Philadelphia delegation at the 2016 Maccabi Games. The Maccabi games are an Olympic style games for Jewish athletes, aged 13-16. This year’s Maccabi games will be held in Stamford, CT from August 7-12, 2016. Teams will compete from delegations all over the country and a number of foreign countries including Israel, Canada, England, Australia and Mexico. Athletes will have the opportunity to meet, socialize and compete against other Jewish athletes from all over the world. Last year, Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey were represented by a combined team. The team finished with the Silver Medal at the 2015 games. It is the desire of the delegation and the returning players to form a team completely under the Philadelphia delegation. Attend the meeting jf you are interested in being a part of this year’s lacrosse team or would like to learn more about it.

The Dukes Young Guns regional tryouts, March 13 and 20, for Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and South Jersey counties for its first Little Dukes 2022- 2023 Team’s (current 6th graders and 5th graders) for the summer 2016 season at Academy of the New Church.
The Little Duke’s 2022-2023 team’s will be under the direction of the Dukes Young Guns Program Coaching Staff. The Little Dukes 2022-2023 coaching staff will be comprised of Rob Forster, Randy Forster, Tucker Durkin (Part-time Coach, Defensive Training Specialist), Austin Pifani (Summer) and Matt Rambo (Summer).

Now in its 18th year, Duke’s L.C. is a premier Philadelphia region club lacrosse program and a member of the Passport Alliance.
Little Duke’s focus will be on practice and training, as well as competing in high level invitational, tournaments. We take pride in preparing you as a player and person for High School and beyond.
Walk-ups are welcome. Registration opens 45 minutes prior to Tryout time.

Bandits Lacrosse Tryouts, Sunday, March 20, Main Line Sports center in Berwyn, open to all, for its youth and high school club teams, which will play during the summer, from June through mid-July. The Bandits offer programming for third grade through junior year of high school (2017-25).
The Bandits summer schedule consists of 10+ team practices and four events. Practices will be held on weeknights in Abington.

2022, 2023: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The Old School Lacrosse Club has limited positions available for its 2017, 2018, and 2019 teams for the Summer 2016 season. Old School celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2015 and has been successfully instructing players with a team of respected High School coaches/educators lead by Old School’s founder and owner John Nostrant (The Haverford School). Our staff have played or coached at the highest levels and support the “teach first” mission of the club, that is why we selected some of the best teaching coaches in the region as well as select college players who support our mission. We are a player centered club in which each player is given the opportunity to excel athletically and academically in order to be prepared for the next level of their playing career while having a realistic picture of where they fit in the college scene.

Clinics

Notre Dame/St. Joe’s Prep Youth Lacrosse Clinic for boys and girls on Thursday, March 31 from 3-5 p.m. at Academy of Notre Dame in Villanova. Boys grades 3-8 and girls grades 3-6.

St. Joe’s Prep and Notre Dame are joining forces to host a clinic for youth boys and girls! Come perfect your lacrosse skills in a fun learning environment with the Notre Dame and St. Joe’s prep coaching staff and team. All Participants must bring proper lacrosse equipment, mouthguard and water bottle.

Face-Off Leagues

Philly Face-Off League Middle School weekly Saturday clinics, starting Saturday, March 19 at Main Line Sports Center, is open to all players’ grades 3-8. The Face-off League was created 3 years ago for face-off guys all over the Greater Philadelphia area. They have over 60 high schools participating in the High School League and every major Club team has a face-off guy represented.
It’s a place where players can show up WEEKLY and be guaranteed to practice against the best competition around. This isn’t a one weekend and done type program. If you are serious about facing-off in this area and for your club or school team, you came to the right place! Our Middle School Face-Off League will be 45 minutes of quality instruction learning technique and the new face-off rules followed by 45 minutes of live reps against quality opponents!

All American Faceoff, World-class faceoff instruction based in Philadelphia. We specialize in making well-rounded student-athletes, great lacrosse players, and dominant faceoff men. Curriculum consists of “Faceoff Days”: a perfect balance of instruction, repetition, and competition for entry level (Uprising Faceoff Days; 3rd-7th grade) to elite level (Elite Faceoff Days; 8th-12th) faceoff players. Each Faceoff Day will consist of techniques (practiced in the MLL/NLL/JHU), warm up, live faceoffs, and a king of the hill (players will be split in groups based on age/skill). Faceoff techniques will include stance, primary moves, counter moves, body positioning, footwork, hand position, GB play, wing play, stickwork, and shooting instruction, etc. Individual player observation and instruction will occur throughout. The first Elite Faceoff Day opens up at the Phelps School (583 Sugartown Rd, Malvern, Pennsylvania 19355) on Monday 1/11 from 8:30-10pm and runs until Monday 2/22. Other locations include Lancaster PA, Allentown PA, Baltimore MD, and New Jersey. Youth Leagues

NXTLeagues’ Mid-Atlantic Spring Lacrosse League, for boys’ club teams in grades 3-8, for spring of 2016. This year, the league looks to grow as it continues to feature the best youth club teams in the Mid-Atlantic region with teams from as far north as Connecticut and as far south as Northern Virginia expressing serious interest. Elite competition is found in both the A and AA divisions. Applications are open for the league, which is played exclusively on Sundays from March 20-May 15 at various top facilities in the Greater Philadelphia area. The cost is $2,300 per team with a $500 deposit due Dec. 1. Team applications must be filled out here.
The league will feature divisions in grades 3-8 and games are comprised of four 12-minute quarters with modified FIL rules to promote fast play and competition. There are two certified referees and one game coordinator per game, with one certified athletic trainer and one NXT representative per site.

The 6th Annual HEADstrong Foundation Lime Light Gala, Friday March 11, at the Hilton Penn’s Landing, This special event has been recognized as one of the most inspirational events in the city of Philadelphia recognizing groundbreaking achievements in research, stories of hope, survivorship and remembering those who have lost their fight, in effort to improve quality of life for families affected by cancer. The event will be held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing located at 201 South Columbus Boulevard from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are now available for $250 each with special pricing for tables of 10 and guests ages 15 -20. The black-tie optional event will include a five-star silent auction, a delicious dinner, featuring a special live performance, an award presentation followed by dancing to the music of world-class entertainment by Jellyroll celebrating the life and legacy of HF Founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori.
This year, television personality, comedian, game show host, producer and talk show host, Marc Summers, best known for hosting the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare, Unwrapped on Food Network, and is currently the executive producer of Restaurant: Impossible will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Additionally, long-time voice of the Philadelphia Flyers, recording artist, TV and film composer Lauren Hart as well as voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, recording artist, songwriter and pianist Jessy Kyle will co-chair the event.
The 6th Annual Lime Light Gala will honor Edward A. Stadtmauer, MD who serves as Chief of Hematologic Malignancies and Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Lauren Shermer will share her inspirational story as she is presented with the prestigious Nicholas E. Colleluori Award. The award is presenting annually to a survivor demonstrating heroics and perseverance in the fight against cancer.
Proceeds from the Lime Light Gala will support the expansion of Nick’s House™, a facility operated by the HEADstrong Foundation™ which provides complimentary extended lodging to families traveling to Philadelphia for cancer related treatment as well as the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Stephen J. Schuster, MD.
