Why did you choose this school? “I have family in Pittsburgh so I have always been traveling out there and know the area well. I began looking here because this is where both my parents went to school. As soon as I got on campus I fell in love. It is so beautiful. They have an outstanding teaching and lacrosse program. Coach (Emily) Hopkins and the entire team were so welcoming. It feels like home.”
HS team’s outlook for 2016 season? “I am looking forward to what this season has in store. I have an extremely talented team and we all work so well together. Coach Yanocha always pushes us to do our best and work as hard as we can. Our goal this year is to make it to districts this year.”
People to thank: “First, I want to thank my high school lacrosse coach, Coach Angie Yanocha. She has been supporting me throughout my entire high school career on and off the field. I am looking forward to playing two more season with her. I also want to thank my club coach, Coach Devin Schmidt, and my first lacrosse coach, Kate Bowes. Coach Bowes taught me how to play lacrosse and that’s where my love for the game began. Thank you Coach Hopkins. I can’t wait to be a part of your team.
“I want to thank all my teammates. You all push me harder and teach me so much. Working with all of you has made me a better player.
Lastly, I want to thank my family and friends for their constant love and support. I would not be where I am today without you. Mom and dad, thank you for driving me countless hours to tournaments, practice, and clinics and for watching every game and clinic you can. You two are my No. 1 fans, and you do not know how much I appreciate everything you have done for me.”
Other schools considered: Scranton, Cabrini
