Club Tryouts
Penn*Lax All-Stars will be holding tryouts for three age group teams at the XL Sports World/BucksMont Indoor Sports Center in Hatfield, PA.
Penn*Lax is a winter only box lacrosse travel team that brings together the state’s premier talent, and couples it with training from an elite and comprehensive coaching staff. Penn*Lax is designed to not conflict with your current elite team while remaining comprehensive and robust. Additionally, Penn*Lax will compete in some of the country’s most prestigious and competitive and already sold out box tournaments, all within the tri-state area. Middle School (7/8th grade Eligible): Tryout Nov 19th and Nov 20th 8-10am; Junior Varsity (9th/10th grade Eligible): Tryout Nov 25th 1-3pm, Nov 27 scrimmage 6:30-8:30pm; Varsity (10-12th grade Eligible): Coaching Staff: All coaches on staff work with all players during training but each team will have a set staff for tournaments. High School Coaches are Adam Mueller (Team USA Offensive Coordinator, former NLL Head Coach of the Year) and Kevin Crowley (Team Canada World Champion, former MLL MVP). JV Coaches are Luke Wiles (former 3x NLL All-Star) and Eric Hoffman (Former Philadelphia Wing). Middle School Coaches are Steven Holmes (Former 8 year NLL pro, current MLL defenseman) and Alex Turner (former 9 year NLL pro).
Practice Schedule: Each team will have 8 two-hour practices on Saturday mornings 10:30-12:30 @ XL Sports World this winter.
Tournament Schedule: The best box tournament lineup in the country! Northeast Regional (XL Sports World), Best In Box (Circle Center Rahway NJ), and Philadelphia Indoor Lacrosse Championships (Feasterville PA). Duke’s National Team tryouts on Saturday Dec. 10 at the 422 SportsPlex in Pottstown. The tryouts are for boys in the Classes of 2022 through 2025 and will be held from 5-to-8 p.m. Cost is $60.

The Duke’s Nationals program is designed to identify players of the highest caliber on a continuing and consistent basis, which will lead to increased success in the national arena. Description of camp: These training sessions will be up-tempo and high energy. Lacrosse has the potential to be beautiful, artistic, creative and mesmerizing. Our lessons and drills are designed to foster that spirit while at the same time teach and reinforce a foundation of strong fundamentals and high lacrosse IQ. When played right, lacrosse is extremely fun to play and watch. We will show kids how to “play right.”

Greg Cattrano Co-Ed Goalie Clinic at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 2-5 p.m. This is the 16th year the popular clinic will be held at Shipley, hosted by Shipley Lacrosse and head coach Mark Duncan. The session runs at Shipley School’s Upper School Yarnell Gymnasium.
The event is open to goalies or all ages, male or female. Group Discounts for clubs with more than five goalies.
Participants will receive 1-on-1 training with the former NCAA, MLL and NLL star goalie, who has been training goalies for almost two decades. Free Warrior Void Lyte Goalie Stick for all paid clinic attendees.

Holiday Lacrosse Clinics for Middle School and High School boys, by Mesa Lacrosse on Dec. 27-28. A good portion of the proceeds will go to Mesa selected charities, #10ve and Checking for Cancer. Other proceeds will go to the Mesa Fresh Lacrosse Scholarship fund named for George Aitken, who passed 10 years ago from cancer. Aitken played at Penn Charter, Delaware and coached Eagles Eye, MAB and at Shipley, Germantown Academy and Abington Friends. Mesa U team members will run the clinics. After more than 2 hours of skills training there will be a pizza party and Mesa coaches will talk about their experiences in high school and college and what it takes to play at the next level.

St. Joseph’s University Men’s Lacrosse Holiday Clinics for boys in Grades K to 8 on Dec. 29, 9-11:30 a.m. at Maplezone Sports Institute, 1451 Conchester Hwy, Garnet Valley, PA 19061. The clinics feature two options – the Sharpshooter Camp and a Dominating Defense & Goalie Clinic.

The Hawks Holiday Clinics give young lacrosse players the opportunity to develop their fundamentals and help build better lacrosse IQ. This will give them the necessary tools to be a more complete player going forward into the spring season. Whether your son plays goalie, defense, midfield or attack, they will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from a Division 1 coaching staff what it takes to be a well-rounded player. This will be a fantastic, learning intensive clinic so don’t miss your chance to participate!

This clinic will focus on teaching and developing the different fundamental movements of shooting; catch and shoot, hitch and go, shooting on the run, inside shooting, and more! The goal is to provide each clinic participant a substantial number of repetitions and attention from the Saint Joseph’s University coaching staff.

Here we build each camper from the ground up. Starting with the basics of stance, footwork, angles and mobility, we then progress to stick-work, ground ball play, outlets and proper communication. If you want to dominate the defensive end this spring – this clinic is for you!

Philly’s Frozen Lacrosse Training at The University of Pennsylvania. This 6-week program (2 hours each week) will increase your overall knowledge (lacrosse IQ) and skill set by hands on coaching from the University of Pennsylvania Men’s Lacrosse staff and well as other top notch coaches and players. Each week you will be put through drills, offensive and defensive sets that will lead to controlled scrimmages. There will also be individual specialty position work each week (offense, defense, goalie and face off). The 6-week training program is open to ANY and ALL male lacrosse athlete in the graduating classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

1st Start Lacrosse is moving indoors for the winter to three different locations. 1st Start Lacrosse is a program where the basics to the game are broken down and taught in a fun and exciting environment. It’s for children aged 3-to-7 and it will be coached by all former players now educators in the Philly area who have an extreme passion for the game.
1st Start is a 6 week program on Sundays starting January 15 where each session will be 60 minutes long. Lacrosse sticks (plastic) will be provided at every session along with a 1st Start STARTer pack, where each child will receive a 1st Start T-Shirt, Sweatband, and Sticker!

Box leagues
The Fusion Lacrosse Winter Box Lacrosse League has one remaining spot for a 5/6th grade boys’ team. The league is being held at XL Sports/BucksMont Indoor Sports in Hatfield and starts Dec 3rd and continues for 9 weeks. The first two weeks are instruction, clinics and scrimmaging followed by a 7 week league format with champions.

Boys Modified Box League: Indoor modified box lacrosse league format specifically designed to promote safe and fast play based on key box lacrosse fundamentals and concepts. The modified box rules benefit all lacrosse players. Attackmen and midfielders will learn to operate in tight spaces improving stick skills, passing and shooting accuracy. Long sticks are not allowed so defenders will learn to play with their body and feet, improving approach and angle play. Goalies will be instructed on proper box goaltending techniques, including positioning, angles, baiting, etc.
Prior to the season commencing, each team and coach will participate in a 1.5-hour training session with USA Indoor Coach Adam Mueller to learn fundamental box drills, techniques and concepts.
Prospect Days
Montclair State Men’s Lacrosse Prospect Camp, Dec. 3. The prospect day is for lacrosse student athletes in the 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 classes. This is best opportunity to show off your skills and work ethic while working with and learning from the Montclair State Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff.

Spring League
Maplezone Sports Institute Boys Atlantic Club Lacrosse League for Middle School and Youth teams. Maplezone Sports Institute (MSI) powered by Heritage Lacrosse is pleased to announce the launch of the Atlantic Club Lacrosse League, a youth boys spring league that will feature competitive travel club teams with players in the graduating classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Doubleheaders will be scheduled for each team on alternating Sundays. Games are 12-minute running quarters with a minute-long break in between quarters and a five-minute halftime. Teams play eight regular season games before playoff Sunday that determines the league champion by graduating class. The dates are March 19; April 2 and 23 and May 7 and 21. All games are played on all turf fields at the MSI Sports Village located in Aston, PA. Schedules, results and standings will all be available real time.
The league uses modified Federation rules with minor tweaks. There is limited contact with an emphasis on player safety, especially when it comes to head contact and unsportsmanlike play.
League Overview: (8 games / team + playoffs); Each team plays 8 games, plus playoffs; Play 2 games/day, every other Sunday; Minimizes conflicts, maximizes value of each game day; Games comprised of four 12-minute quarters; Game Days – March 19, April 2, April 23, May 7 (Playoffs on May 21)
4 Divisions – (tentative groupings, may be subject to change) – 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024
