Clinics

Mesa Lacrosse Holiday Lacrosse Clinics for Youth, Middle School and High School boys and youth girls on Dec. 27 at Main Line Sports. A good portion of the proceeds will go to Mesa selected charities, #10ve and Checking for Cancer. Other proceeds will go to the Mesa Fresh Lacrosse Scholarship fund named for George Aitken, who passed 10 years ago from cancer. Aitken played at Penn Charter, Delaware and coached Eagles Eye, MAB and at Shipley, Germantown Academy and Abington Friends. Mesa U team members will run the clinics along with other coaches from Philly club programs. After more than 2 hours of skills training there will be a pizza party and Mesa coaches will talk about their experiences in high school and college and what it takes to play at the next level.
Two time slots open, 9 am-noon and 1-4 p.m.
There will be separate sessions for 3-5th grade boys and girls, 6-8th grade boys and girls and HS Boys.
Proceeds will go to #10VE, Checking for Cancer and Lacrosse Scholarship program in George Aitken’s name.
These clinics are open to players from all clubs and high school/youth programs!
The cost is $125 per player; and a portion of proceeds will go to Mesa charities 10VE and Checking for Cancer.

Victory Girls Lacrosse Winter Clinics at West Chester University (Session 1) and Westtown School (Session 2). The clinics last seven weeks and include intensive training in: Non-Dominant Hand Improvement, Shot Selection Strategies, Defensive Footwork, Speed and Agility, Transition Passing, Create Defense and strong Attack skills

ULTIMATE JUMP training series by Ultimate Lacrosse, forr all 2017 an 2018 girls. ULTIMATE JUMP is open to any 2017 Committed and Uncommitted player who wants to pursue the next level of lacrosse, as well as any 2018 Committed or Uncommitted player who wants to add to their normal club season. ULTIMATE JUMP has been designed to specifically maximize each player’s individual growth as an athlete so that the transition to college is seamless. Our program will JUMP start your college career by providing an intense lacrosse development from top to bottom to make you the complete player. We will integrate speed, agility, strength & conditioning training that is specific to the needs of each athlete.
BENEFITS: Elite training in a small group environment to maximize skill development for each player; Physical preparation for a smooth transition to the college level: Strength Training and Injury Prevention; Non-Traditional Conditioning Methods: Learn Muay Thai Kickboxing-great for hand eye coordination and cardiovascular conditioning; Mental preparation; Confidence training by Brave Enterprises specifically designed for young women and taught by elite college and World Champion player Crista Samaras (Princeton 99); Weekly Blog Topics: Video Demonstrations for lifting techniques, speed/agility etc.; Implementation of incoming college programs for individuals
PROGRAMMING: Physical Training from September 11, 2016 – August 10, 2017. Programming created for each season. (6-8 week detailed programs) and 1-2 in person sessions per month until summer when training increases to 2 x per week integrated into practices.

Youth Clinics

GameBreaker Winter Stickwork Clinics, Shipley Upper School Gym. There will be two different winter sessions consisting of 5 Sundays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
Session I Dates: December 4th, 11th, 18th, January 15th & 22nd
Session II Dates: January 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th
Boys Ages 4 – 6.5 will be from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Boys Ages 6.5 – 11 will be from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
These sessions will be taught by Mark Duncan, and The Shipley School coaching staff. He will be teaching the campers stick work training.

1st Start Lacrosse is moving indoors for the winter to three different locations. 1st Start Lacrosse is a program where the basics to the game are broken down and taught in a fun and exciting environment. It’s for children aged 3-to-7 and it will be coached by all former players now educators in the Philly area who have an extreme passion for the game.
1st Start is a 6 week program on Sundays starting January 15 where each session will be 60 minutes long. Lacrosse sticks (plastic) will be provided at every session along with a 1st Start STARTer pack, where each child will receive a 1st Start T-Shirt, Sweatband, and Sticker!
There will be 3 different 1st Start locations this fall:

Winter Tournament

Winter Box Tournament for college-aged players, men’s and women’s, by Mazplezone Sports Institute and Heritage Lacrosse. These half-day tournaments, being held next Thursday and Friday (Dec 29 & 30) at the MapleZone Field House in Garnet Valley, are specifically designed for college-aged players to get together and play fun, fast-paced, spirited lacrosse in a SAFE and controlled environment. These tourneys have been designed and are being offered due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the Holiday Break College Box Lacrosse League where top level men’s college players are playing in a 4-game league format over the winter break. The level of lacrosse and sportsmanship has been exceptionally high and the players are asking for more! These tourneys provide an opportunity for out-of-town friends/teammates to travel in, play some great lax and spend some quality time together over the holidays!

Women’s Format
Pool of 4 Teams
3 games/team (two 20-minute halves)
Top 2 in Each Pool Play Championship (20 minute game)
Recommended Roster = 14-18 (including Goalies)
Modified indoor lacrosse rules (emphasis on safe play)
Game play is 7 v. 7 (6 field players and a goalie)
Two passes must be completed in the offensive end before a shot on goal
Goggles and mouth guards are MANDATORY AT ALL TIMES for all players

The Gait Heritage Girls Winter Classic, a 5v5 girls’ lacrosse clinic and tournament, Monday, January 16th (MLK Day) at Maplezone Sports Institute in Aston, PA. The event, presented by Heritage Lacrosse, will feature player clinic sessions conducted by Gary Gait, Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Syracuse University – perhaps the mostly highly credentialed player/coach in the sport, followed by a competitive 5v5 tournament played in a championship format. Space in this exclusive event is limited and is expected to fill up fast; several brackets have 3 or more teams after the first week of registration; we can only accommodate 6 per bracket. • 5v5 half-court play (4 field players and a goalie); 6 field players/team minimum; 9 field players/team maximum.
• 3-station field player clinic (and goalie clinic) will precede tournament play.
• Team coaches are welcome to attend demonstration of Canadian skills and box lacrosse concepts that translate well to 5v5 format and the field game.
• Multiple 12 minutes games; full checking for middle and high school brackets.
Brackets Organized by Grade/Graduation Year (registrations will be accepted and brackets formed based on interest on a “first come first served” basis until brackets and/or the event is full):

Winter showcases

The 88 Showcase, for girls in the Classes of 2018 and 2019 at the Total Turf Complex at 614 Lambs Road, Pitman, NJ 08071 (15 minutes from Philadelphia) on January 2, 2017.
Limited to a total of 88 girls, The 88 Showcase is a Micro-Showcase designed to truly spotlight every player in attendance. Players will have multiple opportunities to be coached by event staff College Coaches as they rotate through high level stations. After players and coaches participate in a Recruiting Q & A, players will play modified small sided games to showcase their abilities to college coaches on hand. Team size will be very limited in order to maximize the exposure for each player. This Micro- Showcase format allows the players and coaches to really connect on multiple levels therefore making the evaluation process much improved. If a girls’ lacrosse player in the class of 2018 or 2019 is considering DII or DIII college lacrosse, this will be a tremendous opportunity for them to showcase their abilities and learn from some of the best college coaches around.

The inaugural Power5 Prospect Lacrosse Camp for girls in Grades 6 to 12 at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL on Jan, 7-8. The directors of the Power5 Prospect Camp have personally reached out to the best programs in the country to ensure the top athletes club coaches from the Florida, the Southwest, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest will attend this event. The Power5 Prospect Camp promises to be a best-in-class player lacrosse experience by providing a unique opportunity for our athletes. Players will get a taste for what it takes to get to the next level. A training camp atmosphere with direct instruction from DI coaches; representing Power5 conferences.

Spring league

Maplezone Sports Institute Girls Atlantic Club Lacrosse League for Middle School and Youth teams. Maplezone Sports Institute (MSI), powered by Heritage Lacrosse, is pleased to announce the launch of the Atlantic Club Lacrosse League, a youth girls spring league for 2017 that will feature competitive travel club teams with players in the graduating classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Doubleheaders will be scheduled for each team on alternating Sundays. Games are 12-minute running quarters with a minute-long break in between quarters and a five-minute halftime.
Teams play eight regular season games before playoff Sunday that determines the league champion by graduating class. The dates are March 26; April 9 and 30 and May 14 and 21. All games are played on all turf fields at the MSI Sports Village located in Aston, PA. Schedules, results and standings will all be available real time.
The league uses modified Federation rules with minor tweaks. There is limited contact with an emphasis on player safety, especially when it comes to head contact and unsportsmanlike play.
League Overview: (8 games / team + playoffs); Each team plays 8 games, plus playoffs; Play 2 games/day, every other Sunday; Minimizes conflicts, maximizes value of each game day; Games comprised of four 12-minute quarters; Game Days – March 26, April 9, April 30, May 14 (Playoffs on May 21)
4 Divisions: Tentative groupings (may be subject to change): 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

Summer Tournament

The 5th annual Hershey Lacrosse Shootout for boys’ and girls’ teams on July 15th & 16th at In the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, PA. This tournament, run by My Lacrosse Tournaments, has become a fast favorite on our summer circuit of events. Teams from all over the northeast travel to participant in an action packed weekend.
With over 65 teams expected to attend in 2017, this event provides high quality lacrosse and family fun just miles from Hersheypark, one of the top rated amusement parks in the country.
All games in this 2-day championship tourney event will take place at In the Net Sports complex (798 Airport Rd
Palmyra, PA 17078). Each team has four games guaranteed and all teams qualify for the playoffs.
AGES FOR BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ TEAMS: A and B divisions available in most boys aged groups; Age groups 2027 through JV and High School
