Three Philly girls – Conestoga’s Liz Scott and Scottie Rose Growney and Archbishop Carroll’s Sam Swart – helped lead the South to a 16-15 overtime win Saturday night in the 12th annual Under Armour Senior All-American Game at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Scott (Loyola signee) had two goals and an assist and four draw controls and Growney (North Carolina) scored twice and had a groundball while Swart (Syracuse) scored once. The South won it on a goal by Charlotte North (Episcopal School of Dallas, Duke), who was named the game’s MVP by scoring in the event’s first OT game ever.
McDonogh School’s Andie Aldave (Notre Dame) won the opening draw in OT to set up the game-winner. North had three goals and one assist. Ali Baiocco (Oak Knoll-NJ, Stanford) had four goals to lead the South and Catie May (McDonogh, Maryland) had a goal and three assists.
Scott tied the game, 15-15, with less than 3 minutes to play on a memorable behind-the-back goal in transition off a feed from Aldave.
The North never trailed as UNC signee Ally Mastroianni (three goals, two assists, Bridgewater-Raritan-NJ) and goalie Riley Hertford (Lake Oswego-OR, USC), 9 saves) led the way. The North led, 9-5, with 6 minutes to play in the half, but Swart made it
9-6 and Growney later made it 10-7.
The South took a 12-11 lead early in the second half but the North used a 3-0 run to retake the lead, 14-12.
All three Philly girls played for the Phantastix.
