The Old School Lacrosse Club has limited positions available for its 2017, 2018, and 2019 teams for the Summer 2016 season. Please visit the Old School website (tryouts) for information and contact us for a private tryout. Old School celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2015 and has been successfully instructing players with a team of respected High School coaches/educators lead by Old School’s founder and owner John Nostrant (The Haverford School). Our staff have played or coached at the highest levels and support the “teach first” mission of the club, that is why we selected some of the best teaching coaches in the region as well as select college players who support our mission. We are a player centered club in which each player is given the opportunity to excel athletically and academically in order to be prepared for the next level of their playing career while having a realistic picture of where they fit in the college scene.

Team 302 Lacrosse Tryouts for summer 2016. The tryouts will be held on Feb. 14 and 21 at the University of Delaware practice turf. Players are recommended to attend both tryouts and current players will use them as practices. Tryouts will be held for the following age classes:

Brine NLC tryouts

The Brine National Lacrosse Classic Regional tryouts will be held for players that hope to advance to the National event July 19-22, 2016 at the River City Sportsplex in Richmond, Virginia. Teams will be coached by NCAA lacrosse coaches and will compete in a championship style format providing players with a meaningful lifetime experience that will better prepare them to meet the challenges of high school and college.

The 2016 Winter Univ. of Maryland Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Clinic on Feb. 6, from 8:30-11:30 am. The clinic is open to all high school, club, and youth coaches. The Maryland lacrosse staff is excited to share drills, concepts, and ideas with all attendees. Following the clinic presentation, all coaches are welcome to watch a University of Maryland Men’s Lacrosse scrimmage with Harvard. Fee: $25 per coach

Winter Tune-Up Face-Off Clinic, Jan. 9, 1-3:30 p.m., 6th to 12 graders, at Phelps School, by Upper River Lax.
Sign up for Upper River Lax’s Winter Tune-Up, with face-off specialist, Ohio State grad and Lower Merion Coach Shawn Kaplan. This 2.5 hour, indoor session will focus on getting face-off men and anyone interested in learning more about this mysterious art ready for the spring! Indoors at the Phelps School in Malvern PA – 6th grade – 12th grade.

The Black Bear Pre-Season Training program is entering its third full year and has trained over 300 players in grades 3rd through 12th during that time. The program focuses on developing the fundamental positional skill sets of the players and only bring in the best coaches to work with our players. In the past Black Bear has had local high school head coaches, current college players, and current college coaches come in and TRAIN the players, demanding their best effort every time out!

Young Bucs Lacrosse free clinic and youth Spring registration event to benefit the HEADstrong Foundation, Jan. 24, Interboro High School’s gymnasium. The clinic is free for players in Grades 3 to 8 and players can register for Young Bucs lacrosse. Also, all are encouraged to donate any amount of money to the HEADstrong Foundation, whose home base of Nick’s House is less than a half mile away in Holmes. Players should bring full pads, sneakers, mouth guard and a donation of any amount for the HEADstrong Foundation. Registration for Young Bucs lax is $110.
• 3rd through 5th grade players should arrive at 8 am. Registration is from 8-9 am and the instructional clinic is from 9am– 11am.
• 6th through 8th grade arrive at 12pm. Registration is from 12-1pm and the instructional clinic is from 1pm – 3pm
• A donation of $3 OR more and you will receive HEADstrong Cancer Foundation shoe laces.

Old School Lacrosse Club 5th annual Winter Stick Skills clinic, for boys in Grades 9 through 12 at the Phelps School (Malvern, PA) on Sundays from 2-3:30 p.m. Sessions run until Jan 31st and you may register online here. OS sessions are run by current Team USA Indoor Assistant Coach Adam Mueller and focus on the proper mechanics and fundamentals that incorporate a combination of box and field lacrosse concepts.
Players experience high rep drills in a variety of situations to produce efficient results. Coach Mueller draws upon his 19 years of experience in the NLL and the only coach to take three different teams to playoff appearances. Enrollment will be capped.

Greg Cattrano Co-Ed Goalie Clinic at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, on Sunday, Feb. 20 from 12-3 p.m.
This is the 15th year the popular clinic will be held at Shipley, hosted by Shipley Lacrosse and head coach Mark Duncan. The session runs at Shipley School’s Upper School Yarnell Gymnasium. The event is open to goalies or all ages, male or female.
Participants will receive 1-on-1 training with the former NCAA, MLL and NLL star goalie, who has been training goalies for almost two decades.

Winter Youth Developmental Clinics

Cradle Lacrosse introductory lacrosse program, for boys and girls ages 4-8, hosted at Episcopal Academy, Garnet Valley, Main Line Sports Center, Friends Select and Germantown Friends. Cradle Lacrosse is the ultimate introduction to lacrosse. Our Friends Select program is 6 weeks long and will teach skills through our structured curriculum progression. We have a passionate staff that is excited to have fun teaching the fundamentals.

Face-Off Leagues

The Philly Face-Off League, Winter Skills clinics on Tuesday afternoons starting December 1st and its normal Sunday FO sessions starting December 22nd, at Main Line Sports in Berwyn. This 6-week program will be for players who want to practice and focus on all aspects of the face-off position. Technique Work, Shooting, Stick work, Live Wing-Play, Defense, and Live Situational Play will all be covered. Throughout the 6 weeks there will also be different guest speakers who will come in to give their expertise on other areas of your game that you should be focusing on as well. The Winter Skills face-off clinics on Tuesday afternoons (12/1-1/5) from 5-6:30 PM is open for players in 5-12th grade. PFL Sundays will return on Sunday, December 22nd. It will be for 9 weeks and will run from 6:30-8 PM every Sunday at the Main Line Sports Center. During the fall over 75 different high school face-off players (25 already committed D1) participated regularly in the Philly Face-Off League. The PFL is a club where starting face-off players for their respective school or club teams can meet once a week to not only practice their skills against each other, but receive coaching as well.
In order to be a part of our PFL Sundays you must have at least one year of experience facing-off at a high level for your school or club team. This league is not for beginners. All American Faceoff
, World-class faceoff instruction based in Philadelphia. We specialize in making well-rounded student-athletes, great lacrosse players, and dominant faceoff men. Curriculum consists of “Faceoff Days”: a perfect balance of instruction, repetition, and competition for entry level (Uprising Faceoff Days; 3rd-7th grade) to elite level (Elite Faceoff Days; 8th-12th) faceoff players. Each Faceoff Day will consist of techniques (practiced in the MLL/NLL/JHU), warm up, live faceoffs, and a king of the hill (players will be split in groups based on age/skill). Faceoff techniques will include stance, primary moves, counter moves, body positioning, footwork, hand position, GB play, wing play, stickwork, and shooting instruction, etc. Individual player observation and instruction will occur throughout. The first Elite Faceoff Day opens up at the Phelps School (583 Sugartown Rd, Malvern, Pennsylvania 19355) on Monday 1/11 from 8:30-10pm and runs until Monday 2/22. Please get all projects and homework done before practice. Other locations include Lancaster and Allentown PA. Youth Leagues

NXTLeagues’ Mid-Atlantic Spring Lacrosse League, for boys’ club teams in grades 3-8, for spring of 2016. This year, the league looks to grow as it continues to feature the best youth club teams in the Mid-Atlantic region with teams from as far north as Connecticut and as far south as Northern Virginia expressing serious interest. Elite competition is found in both the A and AA divisions. Applications are open for the league, which is played exclusively on Sundays from March 20-May 15 at various top facilities in the Greater Philadelphia area. The cost is $2,300 per team with a $500 deposit due Dec. 1. Team applications must be filled out here.
The league will feature divisions in grades 3-8 and games are comprised of four 12-minute quarters with modified FIL rules to promote fast play and competition. There are two certified referees and one game coordinator per game, with one certified athletic trainer and one NXT representative per site.

Box Leagues

Fusion Lacrosse Winter Box League, Bucksmont in Hatfield. There is one opening for a 2021 or 6th/7th combined team. The league is also still accepting individual signups while very few spots remain for grades 5th-8th. The league’s clinic portion starts this Sunday but games do not start until Dec. 20th. The team would not necessarily need to be assembled until Dec 20th.

Summer 2016 Showcase camps

Boys Philly Showcase Camps 2017-18s & 2019-20s, by NXT’s Showcase Lacrosse, June 27-29 at Saint Joseph’s University. Division I coaches coach every team at the camp. Athletes go through college-style practices, workouts and film sessions. Campers, split into the two age divisions, experience a box lacrosse session. Last year, campers at both camps got to learn box lacrosse from Denver associate head coach Matt Brown, who helped the Pioneers win a national championship last spring. Next Level Video, NXTsports’ official video partner, films all games at both Showcase Camps in broadcast-quality high definition. Video packages are available for purchase. Blue Chip 225 Recruiting Showcase camps for 2016, directed by Ted Spencer, at UMass Amherst. Blue Chip 225’s goal is to provide showcase opportunities for all college bound players. It offers an Elite Divison for players who have potential to play at a top 20 school and a Varsity Division for those players whose goals include college lacrosse at the DII , DIII, club, and NJCAA. The Blue Chip staff is of all college coaches; they invite and encourage observing coaches and videocast both Varsity and Elite all star games nationwide. Blue Chip offers quality videography and recruiting software apps for coaches to track players during programs.

The 6th Annual HEADstrong Foundation Lime Light Gala, Friday March 11, at the Hilton Penn’s Landing, This special event has been recognized as one of the most inspirational events in the city of Philadelphia recognizing groundbreaking achievements in research, stories of hope, survivorship and remembering those who have lost their fight, in effort to improve quality of life for families affected by cancer. The 6th Annual Lime Light Gala will honor Edward A. Stadtmauer, MD who serves as Chief of Hematologic Malignancies and Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Lauren Shermer will share her inspirational story as she is presented with the prestigious Nicholas E. Colleluori Award. The award is presenting annually to a survivor demonstrating heroics and perseverance in the fight against cancer.
Proceeds from the Lime Light Gala will support the expansion of Nick’s House™, a facility operated by the HEADstrong Foundation™ which provides complimentary extended lodging to families traveling to Philadelphia for cancer related treatment as well as the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Stephen J. Schuster, MD.

Youth programming

Fusion Futures year-round development instruction is a program designed by Fusion Lacrosse, for grades 3rd-6th. Futures mimics the Fusion Elite platform, with development and elite instruction at its core. Enrollment is OPEN.
